Is my weed safe to smoke ?

    Today I went down into my basement and noticed that my weed has small white dots covered all over the buds. When I first bought it there was 14g and it looked perfectly fine and the strain is called " mr.nice guy" I wanted to know if these white dots are mold because they just started to pop up or are they kief that has gotten on the buds? Please help. If this is mold is there any way to get rid of it

    The jar I'm using is plastic and the top is metal and I noticed that when I wipe my finger on the sides of the jar it is not really wet but has some kind of moisture

    If it's been sealed up with any kind of moisture at all there's a decent chance it's mold man. Can't be sure without seeing it in person though, I can't tell at all from the pics tbh. That middle bud looks pretty good though.

    Is there any way this can be kief or anything else ? Or does white stuff on weed mostly lead to mold and if it is mold is it safe to smoke? Cause it's not like moldy bread that just looks like crap

    Here is the best picture I could get. The only two things I think it could be is mold or crystals cause I was looking at other pics of MJ and they had this kind of crystal covering rather then a stringy web type also the container I'm using has these white things on the bottom of it so I'm pretty sure it's just kief unless the mold can grow on the container as well . Let me know what you guys think? Im going to smoke it later anyway so if I survive i will let you all know how it went.

    Looks like mold spores to me man I wouldn't smoke it. The spores can also grow on the jar or basically anywhere theres moisture. Don't risk putting that into your lungs.

    The good news is you might be able to make hash or edibles still.

    I have decided not smoke it after reading the side affects online I would rather waste 3 buds then maybe cause health problems. Thanks for all feedback guys :)

    That is probably mold and good call on not smoking it. Sucks to have to throw away bud though. For future reference I recommend keeping it in an airtight container like a mason jar or something. If moisture is getting inside then your container isn't airtight either that or the buds are damp or wet but you would probably notice that. Also, unless your basement has good insulation I wouldn't keep it down there basements tend to be pretty damp.

    Thanks for the info. My basement is pretty damp as you said and I think I shot my self in the foot also because when I was hitting my bong I coughed and shot up water and it hit the floor near my weed stash and never really thought to dry it up. Gotta do stupid things to learn though

    Depending on where you are, you might need to take extra precautions when storing your weed. The humidity is killing my buds right now.
