Miracle Gro Nutrients For Cannabis? Experienced Growers HELP

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by SensiBlazin420, Jul 27, 2015.

  1. I have been growing a marijuana plant for the past several months outside. It is 3 feet tall, looks extremely healthy, and has been growing very rapidly.

It is still in the vegetative stage, getting nearly 15 hours of light a day. There have been very few withered leaves and I have been very happy with its steady growth.

Recently I have read a lot of articles and posts online about how Miracle Gro Nutrients should NOT be used when growing cannabis.

I have been using Fox Farm soil and Miracle Gro nutrients to feed my plant and from what I can tell the plant looks very healthy.

From what I have read online I have not read ANY articles to validate the claim that Miracle Gro is not good to use for marijuana plants. The fertilizer is high in NPK and seems to have the right amount of nutrients that have been working just fine.

I am looking for answers from experienced growers with valid, proven arguments for or against the use of Miracle Gro. If you are making a case against it, what are the best fertilizers I should use during the vegetative and flowering stages for my plant?

  2. I used it before I knew there was better stuff. Worked fine.

  3. plant looks good...but fucc MG anyway

  4. mix your own organic soil or use fertilizers designed for cannabis not general low quality ferts like mg

  5. Miracle grow works great, your plant is proof of that. I use miracle grow potting mix in my soil recipe and have had great results, I never have to feed until after stretch with one month veg. from rooted clone.

  6. Miracle grow is lacking in micro nutrients and is also time released so it is difficult to flush out when you are about to harvest. It is all chemical fertilizer and isn't too good for human consumption. Other than that it will keep your plants healthy. I just use filtered water, worm poop and a little molasses during flower. My plants are over 8 feet tall and about 7 feet wide. Of course they are in the ground not in pots.

  7. do some research on miracle grow. Terrible stuff to put into your system.

  8. I have and tried many other soils, I prefer mg in my mix.

    My Mix:

1 part MG moisture control potting mix
1 part cheap local potting soil
    1 gallon of leaf compost
    1 cup Azomite
    4 lb, earth worm castings
    1 cup dolomite lime

Mix it all up and let it sit in a covered container for 30 days or longer
When I end up feeding I use Alaska Veg and Bloom formulas with some Earth Juice Grand Finale
Always open to suggestions just trying to be honest with my results using mg.
