On the steps of the State Capitol (Legislative Building) Friday July 24th at 11a.m. medical cannabis patients and advocates from around the state will be madeavailable to the press to bring attention to change in the laws that go intoeffect that day that will directly impact their lives.
Also attending will be Dr. Gil Mobely to talk about how thesenew laws will impact the health care professional and patient relationship, andwhat patients should be aware of as a result of being pushed into the I-502 system.

Regarding the lack of concern by the governor and the legislature during thislast session, Sarah Wood, a volunteer with the organization states, “This is abig step backwards and in the wrong direction for the process of cannabisreform and compassionate use laws. With the newly written law, it will becomealmost impossible for patients to renew and keep their medical cannabisrecommendations”.
The press conference will also be to announce the formation of asocial welfare organization, The Viper's Club, and its associated ongoing statepolitical action committee, VIPER PAC, to improve the present laws for thebenefit of patients.

Compassionate cannabis use models of law are not designed to reap largecorporate profits. They support and protect patients and adult consumers first. These would include laws that support:
    • Pure science & research without political or corporate bias
    • The right to cultivate at home by adults, adult patients or a caregiver/provider
    • Sharing between all adults, patients or their designated caregiver/provider
    • Cooperative, collective non-commercial cultivation for adults, friends and their families
    • Protection of low cost and easy access to the marketplace for locally owned and operated sole proprietor and small "mom & pop" businesses, not over-regulation and monopolization by the state or large corporations
    • Recognizing and protecting public access to the vast genetic diversity that currently exists worldwide
    • Protecting the confidentiality and security of healthcare information and the right of all adults, patients and their health care professional to be free of unconstitutional registries and databases, from government intrusion and oversight in their personal decisions that involve cannabis (Once the Federal Government removes cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act and eliminates the crimes associated with it, the Organization will explore putting together a list of volunteers for further scientific progress)
    • Arrest, prosecution, asset forfeiture, and Second Amendment protections for law abiding citizens with cannabis
    • The right of everyone to be free from discrimination and denial of any available critical medical care and other vital health services, such as prescription drugs, organ transplants, etc., due to the use of cannabis for any reason
    • CPS protections for parents who consume cannabis for superior relief, prevention or cure for their health condition and for responsible social adult use
    • Employment rights for cannabis users in the workplace that are no more restrictive than alcohol, tobacco or prescription drugs
    • Descheduling of cannabis from the Federal & State's Uniform Controlled Substances Act
    • Tough standards that emphasize punishing impaired drivers and education of the dangers of mixing cannabis and alcohol
    • Retroactive ameliorative relief of cannabis felons without violent crimes or other human rights violations
