Hello everyone. My step dad's prostate cancer has returned, and we have decided to try rick simpson's cannabis oil. The total treatment calls for 60 grams of oil. I have my recommendation, and the cheapest I've found is $25 a gram from a delivery service.

So for anyone who's tried this method, how did you go about actually getting the oil? And I've read it takes a pound of weed to make the correct amount, but I can't afford a whole pound of weed, and I dont feel qualified to make the oil, it being for cancer and all.

But is there some other way to find a source for the oil?

  2. 25$/gram of RSO isn't bad dude. It'll cost more to make if you don't already have the weed required to do so.

Also if you need 60mg of the stuff , well that's less than a gram . 1 gram = 1000mg

  3. Thanks, and sorry, I meant 60 grams of the oil is required.

  4. What was the required dosage? 3 grams a week or less??

If it was 3grams per week think of it this way: 75$ per week for cancer treatment sessions. That's still less than say...chemo or other treatment options that can cost up to $20,000 per three months.

the dosage to treat cancer is supposed to be 1.5 grams a day. i found it wasn't enough to do anything but slow the growth down, but when i increased the 44% cbd oil to 3 grams a day my cancer level has dropped from 22518 to 4508 in less than 2 months. on the 29th of this month i go for another test and i am thinking it should be 0 by now, will keep everyone posted in my fighting cancer thread.

a lb is enough for the complete treatment supposedly. first of all you need to find a high cbd flower source, you can start with an oz when you first make it if you want - he won't be able to take a whole gram a day at first, it will be too potent (unless you want him tripping out on shit all day) a grain of rice a day increasing slowly as he can take it until you get to at least 1.5 grams a day. i highly recommend at least 2 to make sure its working, and if he can take it and you can afford it 3 grams a day. just makes you eat more, sleep more, and rest more. hope this helps!!

  6. also depending on your state you might want to contact whoever is making the oil - say you find some at a dispensary for sale, high cbd rso. email the maker or ask the owner of the dispensary if they have a hospice or program for the poor - thats what i did, i was paying 100 bucks for a 5 gram syringe until i contacted the people making it. now I pay the taxes and shipping on the quantity, which on 60 grams is around 80 bucks. next month i hopefully can start reducing my dose, then go on a "maintenance dose" of a low strength butter based oil. once you start taking you have to keep it up for a while, the maintenance dose you might have to take the rest of your life, maybe just a few years, but the main thing is to keep enough cbds in your body to be able to immediately attack and kill any cancer cells trying to creep back in. and in the mean time he needs to get his diet corrected to it won't be so hard to stave off.

  7. Oh wow thank you very much, this is extremely helpful! I live in California. When you asked, did you receive any hesitation from the dispensary about giving you the makers information? I would think the dispensary would be losing money if everyone went to the seller directly.

  8. I didn't ask the dispensary - i asked the maker of the actual oil the dispensary carries. the maker of the oil i use is yak edibles, if you can find their email address tell them your situation - they can and most likely will work out a deal with you so its not as expensive. the dispensaries sell the 44% high cbd oil for 100 bucks for a 5 gram syringe, they sell it to dispensaries (and qualified patients) for approximately 67 bucks a 5 gram syringe, I am on medicare/mediCAL so they give it to me for shipping plus tax, which comes to a little under 80 bucks. which comes out to 6.38 a 5 gram syringe. they also have a hospice program in the bay area, they have a nurse that works with you on dosing, diet, etc - the profits they make on the oils and edibles they sell under the brand name "yak edibles" goes to support the hospice program and people like me. great place, medically minded and compassionate.

  9. I can't seem to find anything current from yak edibles, only an article from 2010, and their site is under construction. Might you be able to help me with their e-mail address? Or maybe tell me how you came across it? That is a really fair price, especially compared to everything else. Thank you so much.

  10. There is a recipe for a very bioavailable form of RSO on the stickie thread under Incredible Edible Herb. The thread is called Another Tincture Thread.

  11. Try surfing the darknet, youll definitely find it there

  12. i think its under a hospice name, hold on and i'll look thru some stuff and see if I have it.
its all dependant on what the oil is made from. I had a trusted friend (a scientist who definitely knows what he's doing, has 32k in purge ovens, extracting equipment) make some from a bunch of bud given to me from a local dispensary, bud was pineapple express and something else, it wasn't strong enough to stop the growth of my cancer. it really is strain dependent. Find either a proven high cbd strain and make it the way the phoenix tears site goes over it, or find someone who already makes it at tested, proven strength. I hear a lot of people say it doesn't do all they say it does - I say it does, and it will work on everybody - you just have to put the work in to find what does work and stick with it, not give up because you don't like the feeling or taste.
all you need then is a good, proven, high cbd strain, very important that you start with that, otherwise its gonna be a waste of time, not all plants are created equal.
if you don't care what you are putting in your body go ahead and go there. thats where the cartel gets rid of a lot of their shit - theres a guy that drives around here in an ol beat up car that will pay you 500 a pound regardless of what its like- could be hay, they don't care, cause they take it to a bulk storage, mix it up and either make bubble hash or lately they are doing bho extracts. I wouldnt trust anything extracted on the dark web, period. you will end up with mites and all kinds of mold and crap in your stuff if you do. I've seen some of the grows this guy buys, scary that people think they grow good weed just because they have a yard full, then when its harvested it all smells like hay and chemicals, lmao!!

There is a HUGE PROBLEM with Rick Simpson oils on the market in my experience : a large portion of them are worthless, and some of them will even make you sick, giving you a stomach ache and whatnot. Most people making it and selling it to dispensaries are all about profit. Most of the time they use their lowest quality material that they don't know what to do with because they can't make quality BHO out of it that anyone wants to smoke, so they turn it into "rick simpson oil". It's usually made from the lowest quality trim in my experience. These people are not testing for bacteria, molds, or pesticides either. This is risky for anyone on immunosuppressant medications. RSO sold in dispensaries should always be tested for cannabinoids, bacteria, mold, and pesticides in my opinion. It is irresponsible not to. The majority of the people using it frequently are with chronic illnesses that they manage with it.

What I'm basically telling you or anyone else is be very careful what "rick simpson oil" you choose if you aren't making it from material you've grown yourself. You're playing a game. You're never even sure which strain you're getting much of the time, which matters significantly in the way it affects the disease. Just because it's oil in a syringe doesn't mean it's good. If you're scared of using solvents there are many solventless methods you can do now to produce strong edible medicines. All that matters is the starting material itself. You will never turn trash into medicine.

Basically unless you make it yourself you will NEVER have a real consistent supply. This applies to "edibles" too.

  14. Even the clear "golden" oils I've received in the past aren't always good quality, and sometimes nasty. Be careful with what you're using.

  15. #1 - if your dispensary is carrying rso that is unlabeled and untested you need to find a new dispensary, as they are about profits first. Yak Edibles batch tests their stuff, its made exactly the same way each time - they have a hospice program in the bay area, for crying out loud.

As far as making it from material grown by yourself - have you had it tested before hand for strength, terpene profile? How are you going to know if its going to work if you don't know the strength? even taking 2 cannatonic clones, from the same mother plant, both can come up with different thc/cbd profiles as well as slightly different terpenes too. Case in point - i was making it for myself out of a lb of bud given to me by the dispensary, most was pineapple express and about 1/4 lb was og kush. at the recommended dose for cancer (1 1/2 grams a day) the cancer was still growing in me, even at 3 grams it didn't do much good. might have slowed the growth some but not much. when I switched over to the 44% cbd oil, within 50 days i had reduced the amount of cancer in my body from 22518 to 4508 - thats almost a 500% reduction in the amount of cancer in my body!!! Its unheard of, at 3 grams a day, but also shows what finding the right plant combination will do. I believe they use several strains in their mix, which is what you should do - the more different terpenes, cbd profiles you can combine the better the end result will be.

There are a few companies around that have established themselves as reliable makers of true, whole plant extracts - not just "kief" oil or hash oil, but true whole plant extracts. thats where the healing power lies, in the whole plant. Also, 60 gram treatment programs are bullshit - it HAS to be based on actual patient reaction to medicine, etc. it takes some people a while to get up to a full dose of this stuff, i'm taking 3 grams a day which is really tough to deal with - tired all the time, want to rest a lot, always hungry!! most people can't handle a gram a day. let alone 3 - but if split up into several doses it doesn't come on as strong as taking a full gram at a time. if i took all 3 grams at once, i think i'd probably think i was dying and call an ambulance, if i could stop eating long enough to pick up the phone, lmao!!!

if you are going to grow it yourself, try and grow as many different high cbd plants as possible, combining them into the final rso product. i guarantee that you will definitely be happy you went the multiple plant route and not a single strain, from experience you've got to mix them up to get the right combination.

  16. Thanks for the response. You've had success with the Yak RSO? I've never had it before. I tried a few of their products around the year 2010. I think it was a brownie and maybe some literal crushed decarb'ed cannabis flower capsules if I remember correctly. Of course it didn't do much to me being I was used to strong hash edibles. But they work for you? Great. Have you found their products to be consistent with time? Have you ever had a "bad" batch?

It's not just my dispensaries, I've gone out of my way all over the place in So Cal trying RSO. I find a good oil sometimes, but it's only a matter of time before my supply dries up, and I eventually wind up with something nasty that I have to return and I quit using it for a while. Almost all the RSO I see is untested, period.

It's great to hear the high CBD is working out for you. I'm sure your mixture contains a strong % of THC also? I've always found not necessarily CBD, but some high THC indicas will work pretty good for me, as you're putting it the best is in "mixes"... I try to get a full cannabinoid spectrum. I'm always willing to give the high CBD stuff a shot though. It's amazing it's working so good for you. Then again we're both battling different illnesses, so we'll have to see!

What you're saying makes sense about dosage. I can see many people needed much more than 1 gram a day. When I use 1 gram of good RSO in a day I feel fantastic, 3 grams... wow, I have to try at some point! I'm sure it won't hurt. [IMG]

I'm hoping to start growing my own supply within 6 months or so. You're right about your product not being tested if you grow it, but if you find the right genetics and the right strains that work and seeing if they effect you good, you're pretty set to go! And you can always have quality control, so that's my ultimate goal in the long run. It'll cut down cost a bit too.

I'll look for the Yak RSO. I'm sure if it's working that good for you it should probably have a nice effect on me too.

  17. Thank you to everyone who has repilied so far, this has all been really helpful. I've found the Yak edibles company, kind of. Its actually through a labratory, which you can find on facebook, under Berkeley Bio-Organic Research Laboratories. They seem very legit. And you have to go to their facebook and request to see their actual site. I'm going to attempt to get into contact with them. And the hospice is called Dharma Care & Hospice Program. I'll update when something happens..

  18. The darknet is where I found it for my girlfriend, who is receiving her 3rd chemo treatment today. She has a very low tolerance and has worked her way up to a daily dose equal to about 2 grains of rice. She takes the oil in a capsule in the early evening and is often still buzzing the next morning at 5:00 when she wakes up to get ready for work.
