Hazards of smoking blunts

Discussion in 'Fitness, Health & Nutrition' started by 47KushStrains, Jul 20, 2015.

  1. ive recieved a lot of wish-washy information such as "smoking one blunt is equal to 20 cigarettes" and stuff along those lines.

when it comes down to it, how dangerous is smoking the tobacco leaf of cigarillos rolled with marijuana? when im not vaporizing im smoking blunts, which may seem like a total contridiction but theres just something about a nice fat blunt..

20 cigs? Lies. Cigs are sprayed with dozens of hazards chemicals, way more than your rillo.

  3. Those cigar rolls you buy from the store and fill with weed are just as bad as cigarettes. It has all the same shit.

20 cigarettes? Idk seems like soemone pulled that number out of their ass

But certainly it isn't healthy. Tobacco already causes cancer without all the shit corporations put into those things

  4. Well pretty much anything but air going in your lungs is bad for you, with that being said. As long as your not filling your lungs with 6-10 blunts a day, I say smoke away.
I would rather destroy my lungs with a blunt than the deadly nicotine any day of the week.

  5. Well you're not supposed to inhale cigars, so if it's a real blunt made from a gutted cigar then yeah it's probably pretty terrible for your lungs.

But the blunt wraps I wouldn't say are too bad, I bet it's like 1-2 cigs at most, just don't smoke loads.

  6. blunts contain nicotine (in the tobacco wrap)

  7. 100% bullshit.

cigarettes are bleached white because carcinogens give zero fucks about your lungs.

  8. what exactly was bullshit about what I said?

Its a scientifically proven fact that tobacco causes cancer even without all the additives

  9. idk maybe i was angry that day. but the wrap has all the properties of paper, which is still bad. the recipe is in the roll. plant matter alone is still plant matter. but i won't back up tobacco companies because i believe all of their products have the same end game result.

  10. all I was arguing in that post is if its a smoking product from a large company, you can be sure it has additives.

    More or less is irrelevent.

People like to say hookah is less bad or blunts are more bad or whatever but it misses the point.

Tobacco itself even fresh and organic contains loads of carcinogens, its not just plant matter. Some plants are worse than others. And of coarse there is no way those blunt wraps don't have additives.

  11. Snoop dogg has been smoking blunts for decades... With no cancer diagnosis whatsoever. To me, thats enough to say fuck it and burn one after another.

  12. ^ i see what you are saying. the packaging doesn't hide the intent behind the packagers. touche

  13. my great grandma smoked and drank well into her 90's

But that doesn't debunk anything. That's why they say "increases risk of cancer". I shouldn't have said "causes cancer"

    Cancer is an intersting subject.

A carcinogen is the name for a molecule that damages DNA. When a cell replicates, the damaged part of the DNA is copied. That's why we don't regenerate perfectly and why as we age we don't look as healthy.

Cancer is random and there are lots of factors including your own genes. But basically every time your DNA is damaged, that damage is permanent and all cells replicated from that cell will have that damaged DNA copy.

In unlucky cases, the damage causes a mutation in the cell making it cancerous.

This is also why kids and perfectly healthy adults can get cancer for no apperently reason. Its an unfortunate mutation.

So yea basically every time you smoke you increase the chances that you'll randomly get cancer.

Its like buying cancer lottery tickets

  14. Agreed. But if it's humanly possible to smoke blunts without developing serious problems... You only get one life, why not roll the dice ;)

  15. Quantification and comparison of marijuana smoking practices: blunts, joints, and pipes.
    (full – 2011) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC302509...

"Participants reported that they placed 50% more marijuana in blunts than in joints and
placed more than twice the amount of marijuana in blunts than in pipes."

Comparison of subjective, pharmacokinetic, and physiological effects of marijuana smoked
as joints and blunts. (full - 2009) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC277677...

"Joints produced greater increases in plasma THC and subjective ratings of marijuana intoxication,
strength, and quality compared to blunts,”

  16. cancer is random, and some wont get from tobacco as fast.. but trust me hes a candidate keeps burnin tobacco has to be a cig worth of tobacco in a full blunt...

  17. think of bleached white paper as the most cancerous agent. How much bleach does it take before you inhale cancer?

  18. bleach isn't the only carcinogen.

And as said before, carcinogenic molecules are like lottery tickets. The more you consume, the higher your chance of winning cancer.

Even if its true that a cigarette is worth more tickets than a blunt wrap, why the fuck are you buying cancer lottery tickets in the first place?

  19. if you inherit intelligence, do you use it too?

I firmly believe some people are incapable of learning. Just because we all have brains doesn't mean we all know how to utilize them as the grand organs they have potential to be.

  20. I think you posted this in the wrong thread.

    Or you are high
