James N Cook has a good zombie series. Excellent actually. A. American - also another excellent series. That is the authors pseudonym. Those should keep you reading for a while. If you dont yet have a kindle just download the app for free for your computer - most of these post apocalypse book series, which are very popular right now, are found on kindle and are very cheap - usually about 2.99$
man, I've been reading copious amounts of fantasy novels and a lot of those were zombie related. Mark Tufo's Zombie Apocalypse series. It's awesome, albeit it does it a little out there by book 4 but it all works so well and it's held together with humor. Also, like stated above I enjoyed Day by Day Armageddon a lot.

I second The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Phenomenal book. Also, a really new one called The Girl with All The Gifts. Really awesome take on the 'zombie'.
1984 by George Orwell. Not post-apocalyptic, but rather tells about a dystopian future. Awesome book, highly recommended.
