If I ever have an adolescent daughter, I would much rather she be exposed to stories about a young woman who is recognized for her athletic abilities and forms a bond with a handsome black man, than be exposed to traditional stories where the female protagonist is cooked and eaten by witches, or loses her voice and feels like she is being stabbed by knives, or falls into a deep slumber until a prince comes along to kiss and save her. My nephews love Teen Titans.. and I think it is hilarious. Granted when they watch the reruns over and over it loses it's appeal, I think it is funny. People have plenty of weird fetishes. If that's the case then Michael Bay's hypothetical childrens film must be packed full of explosions and violence correct? Not that directing a movie in the past has any relevance to directing a new, unrelated, children's film/show; I would much rather have my daughter watch something directed by this guy as opposed to the well respected Michael Bay because Bay focuses completely on action and violence.
