REALSTYLES ALL WHITE POWER CREE CXB3590 GROW

Discussion in 'Lighting' started by REALSTYLES, Jul 12, 2015.

  1. This thread will show you the power of the WHITE POWER led panels I made lol. In this experiment I'll be using only 12 plants under1302 watts total, 372w in a 4x4 tent and 930w in a 4x8 no AC during the summer and today is day 1 of veg

These lights will outperform any mono style led and the cheap COB knock offs and the funny thing is I know a lot more about led lighting than the ones who are selling you lies and inferior lighting. My plants right now are getting 840 umoles per m2 and each panel is running 186w turned down and at full power 413w which I'll do in the winter months

  2. Oh yeah I forgot to mention what's growing in the 4x8 tent 7 Thin mint Girl Scout Cookies and 1 Dr Kripplings Incredible Bulk and the 4x4 has 3 HSO Blue Dream and 1 Dr Kripplings Blue Kripple. My goal 3lbs can I do it? We'll find out

  3. white power sounds racist. Maybe your plants will grow KKK hoodies or something. Ha ha just kidding.

    Thanks for sharing.

  4. How much did it cost total to put together such light fixtures? Is there anyway you could put together a simple list of pieces/parts and a "how to" video explaining what to do with said pieces and parts? I know for most people, learning all of the technical difficulties associated with such a task can be dissuading, whereas 'boiled down' simplistic how-to's catch people's attention.

  5. If you knew who his avatar is, you would get the joke.

Search around in Real's threads, he made a couple of how to for wiring and building them. Once you understand how it works its actually pretty damn simple to build.

His lights are not cheap, but they are what I would consider the holy grail of DIY cob lights hes pushing efficiancy to the max with these cobs.

You can easilly make a much cheapper version using smaller bridgelux or cree cobs. I was able to reach almost 1$/watt with my diy cobs.

Yeah I've looked around his threads and videos, but none of them are "idiot friendly". For people like myself, who have no knowledge on the subject whatsoever, the tutorials are a tad confusing and all over the place. I think what would help most is a breakdown of the function of all the parts in a real thorough way. Because I'm sure there are plenty of people like myself, who don't know exactly what goes into an LED fixture and thus, have a hard time understanding all of the labels and part #s.

For example, I'm an audio engineer. If I wanted to explain to somebody how to create a reverse-reverb layer, I would write something like this.

What is reverse reverb? - (explanation)

    What you'll need - (explanation)

Step 1 - Reverse your layer (explanation)

Step 2 - Select reversed section (explanation)

Step 3 - Add reverb, adjust depth (explanation)

Step 4 - Straighten reversed layer (explanation)

Edit - I'm just realizing that this could seem 'needy' lol. You don't owe anyone a tutorial or explanation Real. I've yet to even start my first grow, but in the meantime I'm trying to research as much as I can so that my first grow will be as killer as possible. LEDs seem like the route I wanna go, but seeing as to how there's alot of negative feedback on the fixtures out in the market right now (or they're just too damn expensive), I'm intrigued with your DIY idea.

  9. I understand what you mean... it took me a while to figure out how to choose the drivers and to understand the voltages, etc

I would suggest for you to search into some diy led tutorials on google. After watching a couple of them you will eventually start to understand and be able to ask the correct questions.

I will be happy to give you a quick tutorial on how I built my light... when I find some time... :/

But in the meantime dont hesitate to pm me for questions :)

  10. wow man sounds like ur trying to get him to do ur homework for you... if you do some research then these videos do help tremendously. and then ask him or someone on one of these light threads to fill in the gaps.

i just ordered enough stuff to power 1 vero29, use what i've learned online and from here and see how it is when i get my hands on something real, then if it all goes good make some of my own 4 light strip and then just keep playing around with them

  11. can't wait to see ur vero vid. hopefully my (correct) driver comes in soon so i can get to tinkering...

  12. Waiting for the drivers too lol I have 10 Vero 29 4000k's

  13. When someone says they have a 'tutorial', it usually means a guide for all audiences, not just those who have spent hours of research on the subject. I can youtube tutorials right now for fixing cars, building a guitar, etc., and none of them require me to be experienced in the subject matter.

That aside, yeah, I mentioned how it can seem needy that Real doesn't owe anyone an in-depth explanation as to what he's doing. Were lucky that people who are building their own lights are even mentioning the process to others. But to me, this forum is a gathering place where we can share our information and concepts to one another. If and when I wrap my head around this topic, I plan to go a step-by-step tutorial on my build. It will probably be a lot of work, but I'm cool with that if it means helping out a couple people here at GC.

  14. My diy tut is step by step when in doubt pm me a question. I have a list of the things I used and the parts needed. It's not really not that hard. Like shred said gotta due some research like I did.

  15. They quoted me $119 free shipping. I won't buy one nor tolerate the lies. Gonna start a light company soon from Vero's too Cree and have full setups with tent and tray with drip systems, like how I do it just add nutes of your choice.

  16. Update time the girls are getting big fast grew 7" in 7 days the plants are now 10-11.5" tall

  17. I will be watching this! Styles! your skills are top knotch man!

  18. Wow just got warning because I started a thread asking if I should start a light company and some of the haters who are still pissed about the Mars smashing video. The warning was for name calling and I didn't even call any names. But oh well I see how it goes on here.

  19. Real ur like a mad crazy led maker haha n we love it
