Tell your senator to vote no for The Fairness In Class Action Litigation Act.

  1. Here's a copy of the bill which is extremely short actually. https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/114/hr1927/text

The bill essentially requires that all plaintiffs in a federal class action suit must suffer the same type of injuries and to the same extent. Well this may seem inconsequential it make class action lawsuits significantly harder to file against corporations. Take for example 100s of people are exposed to some radiation in a factory and like 98 of them get some type of cancer in the next couple of years. If the plaintiffs don't have the exact same type of cancer then they can't file a suit. So if a couple people have different types of cancer the the defense can use that as an excuse to try and get the case thrown out even if there is very clear abuses.

In addition this makes filing lawsuits against financial crimes almost impossible. This is because people will most likely be taken for different amounts of money and the injury therefore will be to a different extent which means the plaintiffs won't be allowed to sue together. Essentially this bill makes it much harder to file a large class action lawsuits which just means corporations will be able to get away with more sketchy shit. This bill does nothing to stop frivolous lawsuits as individuals can still sue themselves but they lose the power of suing as a group. Take for example, the suit that was filed against the NFL on behalf of ex players for medical injuries. Had these rules been in effect NFL players wouldn't have been able to sue the NFL collectively because there is no way that all players have the same injuries and to the same extent. However, it's clear to anyone with common sense that injuries can be of a very similar nature and cause yet not be to the same extent which is why this bill is extremely foolish.

I really urge every blade to write to their congressman, even just a small blip saying you won't vote for them if they vote yes for this piece of shit legislation. This bill will essentially get rid of most federal class action lawsuits which means taking away power of the citizens and giving it to companies who already have entirely too much control. Nobody benefits from this bill except large corporations and the American people lose another right and way to defend themselves against large corporations. This legislation is an insult to the American people and shows how little congressman care about the American people. Please write your congressman, tell your friends, and post this wherever you can because people need to know about this cluster fuck of legislation before it slips through our congress unnoticed.

  2. first tpp now this?

Wouldst thought after the Monsanto protection.act people wouldst pay attention.....

  3. How can people pay attention when nobody in our media informs people about it. Literally found like three articles after scouring for twenty minutes and only one of the three can be considered a real well known source. It's a sad state when all our media reports on is what Donald trump is doing and how his comments are gonna impact the election. Our media has become so useless all it cares about is what can potentially effect an election that isn't even gonna happen for at least another year and a half. It matters more about what stupid thing Donald Trump may potentially say than what sketchy legislation our congress is working on cause people are more interested in Trump's bullshit than real stories.

You really have to seek this kind of stuff out in order to find it. I wish blades like Divine spent all the time and effort they do looking at useless conspiracies and fought against bills that are really doing us harm and directly taking away our rights like this one. At the end of the day, as much as we want to blame the media it is the ignorant American publics fault. It's no coincidence that every time I tuned into CNN for twenty days straight all they were talking about was the escaped convicts. If people didn't validate and tune into CNN when they show bullshit then they wouldn't show bullshit. I guarantee you that when things like Charleston shooting, the Malaysian airline flight, and this whole Trump bullshit happen CNN's ratings go through the roof cause people flock to it like a bunch of blind sheep and CNN realizes this. Anytime you see real talk about policy on CNN it's like a two second segment where they mention it in passing and then have a fifteen minute debate about how Trump will effect the Republican Party which is really the sad truth about our media.

If we had a media organization solely devoted to informing the public about what is happening then it would get horrible ratings because it would be boring, which is why you see these 24/7 news channels try to focus in on stories they perceive as "sexy." PBS newshour is the antithesis of what I am describing and nobody watches it because it's very dry, straight forward, and informative. If you've never watched it I definitely recommend it. It's not a perfect news show by any means but it makes the rest of our media look like second grade children screaming at each other.

  4. this is why I say a revolution is coming.

This shit will just keep piling up under the rradar

The idea that we can vote away corruption and fix it with democracy is a pipe dream

  5. I can't really disagree with you there, but it doesn't mean I'll give up trying either way. Just out of curiosity what do you think a revolution would lead to in terms of a government? Secondly what kind of governmental changes do you think would be needed in a political revolution? Like if you had complete control what would you do differently than we currently do? I know this is kind of an open ended question but I would love to hear some specific solutions to make our political system better.

I guess I would start with limiting campaign donations to something reasonable and the abolishment of super pacs and other loopholes to get around the system. Probably the most influential thing we can do.

I do believe that apathy is the greatest source of all our problems. If voters were active and knew how scummy their reps are, which really isn't that hard to figure out then we would see a bigger push for honest politicians. Unfortunately, most people phone it in or don't vote at all so they vote based on misconceptions/with party lines and it leads to retards who feel that they can get away with pulling bullshit well they know nobody watches.

I think I would also move to a public funded debate format for elections to help even the score with big money interests and big name candidates. This would be some kind of system where candidates would get equal airtime that is mandated at certain times by the government. This allows candidates to have their voices heard more fairly and leads to much more independent/non wealthy individuals running for public office which is always beneficial IMO.

The biggest issue in addition to that is a public disconnect. People want change but they don't vote, talk about issues, or run for public office so the seats are taken by self serving scumbags often. If people really cared as much as they say they do and starting running for public office even at a local level then we could see a major change in this country Understandably nobody wants to put in the legwork, especially when they can watch Netflix instead and complain about politics on FB.

Like pressing the reset button on a game, Wed simply burn and replant the seeds of corruption

Personally I wouldn't take part in a revolution because I'm wise enough to know I don't fully understand it all.

However I'd support a return to our origional constitutional government. Freedom is important

Hmmm. That's a tough one. Here are some off the top of my head.

1: I'd try to make sure we fund ways to protect citizens from crazies with guns, without trying to take away or regulate the guns. Things like public training for shooter scenarios and quick response tactics for swat teams. Perhaps armed gaurds in defenseless areas like schools.

2: I'd like to see an end to pork barrel spending. Bills should be cut and dry, 1 law at a time.

3: somehow we need to prevent corporations from bribing senators.

    4: true government transparency.

5:non interventionist foreign policy and emphasis on economic self sufficiency

Maybe ill come back with more ideas, but I think the point is moot as I will explain below

I agree. But I haven't a clue how to get people to take politics seriously.

perhaps we can regulate the media itself to allow all presidential candidates equal representation

    And outlaw political parties

Now for my primary concern regarding revolution

A revolution would weaken our country significantly. There will be gaps in the chain of command, the military will be largely disconnected, and the economy will take a hit. Leadership will be split.

I fear this is what the Chinese government is waiting for. Or even other powers that seek control.

Once America is flung unto chaos, the world powers will shift, and America might end up far behind or even bowing to another nation...

I do hope we can fix things from within the system but I really fear America is simply doomed

I want to take Chinese as a precaution when I go back to school

  7. Whatever happens after that, id love to be the civilian-general of a militia completely loyal to the wellbeing of citizens and make sure that its protected

  8. what happens when there is a split?

People assume a revolution will be people vs government , but in America there are two types of anti government extremists.

The Communists hate the evil plutocratic corporate government and blames capitalism for all evil.

While ultra right wing anarchists also hate the same government but for a different Reason.

What if we end up seeing multiple terror groups form in America. Its not going to he a civil war or revolution. Its just gong to be chaos

    -yuri

  9. That is true, and a very good thought. I would think these groups would need large amounts of military defectors to really have a chance against the government and the military
