Ok, first of all sorry if this is not the appropriate category for this thread, but it seemed the closest in relativity. Also accept my apologies if this topic is overly-discussed, however a quick search didn't actually bring any valuable results for my situation, and thats why I'm posting. A friend of mine bought some amnesia haze from a guy who said the buds weren't premature at all, but he claimed he didn't have the time to dry them/ cure them properly... The price was quite a bargain. The buds looked good, bright green with red / orange hairs, however quite moist. Smoking the buds was a disappoint. Not only the joint wasn't burning properly, but the high was mild and short, accompanied by a weird taste. I left the buds 2 days in a room with good air flow, no sun light and minimum humidity to dry furthermore. Now the buds are noticeably dryer, a bit chunky and easy to break up, but still no sweet amnesia smell, only this grassy/ "planty" fucked up smell. What is the best solution for this problem? Should I start curing the weed ( with jars etc.) ? Should I leave it alone to dry some more in the air circulated room? How much time will approximately take for the buds to have the desired skunky smell and produce a decent high? The only time and way I enjoyed this type of weed in the past was by leaving it a hell lot of time in a jar (actually forgot it) and smoking it a month or two later. It felt normal and the high was really stronger than when it was damp, but hey, I dont have a month or two now, we re leaving for vacation and we want to get the most out of the product we have in the shortest time possible. Yup, this might be true... thats why I broke it into smaller pieces and let it air dry for the past 2 days... Im just wondering... should I start curring it inside closed vases or keep drying it the way I do now...?
I have 20g... I just want to make the best out of it... what procedure should I follow at this fucked up situation to get the most potent bud possible? the little sticks (dunno how to properly call them) snap if you bend them and the buds seem drier than yesterday... should i put it in a closed vase or keep air drying for best results? there is a little bit of mold actually, and Im wondering if it will get worse if I enclose it in a vase, nevertheless the product is drier than when I first had it in my hands.
well dude I would throw it in the garbage 10 fucking times if I had some more money aside... so keeping it and trying to do my best with it is a forced choice for me...
Look man be careful smoking mold. That is very dangerous. If you must i would say leave it in the open. If the stems are snapping youre on the right track. Always observe before you purchase.
Curing it in jars for about 90 days should do you good. The chloryphil taste will be gone and you will get a better high. Good Luck!
i have a similar problem humidity never been over 60% yet getting a dampsort of smell I though maybe humidifier may be causing the problem so got rid of it everything is healthy and looks great just a weird smell
