    Ok so i've done hours of research on this forum/across others and have planned out my first ever grow. It's medical for personal use so i don't mind a less than average yield but i want to know if this will work;

    Location: Sliding door closet, 2x4 ft space to work with. Hoping this will be enough for 1 plant that will have a short lived vegetive stage in effort to keep them small without stunting their growth. They will each be living in separate 2 gallon pots from seedling to harvest.

    Lighting: I plan to have 4, 23w 100w replacement 2700k CFL throughout the entire grow cycle. On between 20-24 hrs/day for my 2 week vegetive and then switch to 12/12 for flowering but still using the same 100w CFL 2700k bulbs for lighting. Or would it be better to just use 100w CFL 6500k from the start to finish? I'm on a tight budget so prefer to use the same set of lights. Also any tips on what to seal off lighting with besides using an expensive grow tent is appreciated.

    Ventilation: I plan to just sit a large desk fan in the back of the closet, opening and closing my closet door to further regulate temperature and humidity.

    Temperature Control: Can i just nail a normal red meter thermometer to the wall? If not what would you suggest?

    Nutrients: I'll be feeding all 1 plants strictly water at a PH of 6.2-7.0 until flowering, at which point ill introduce an organic tomato fertilizer up until 2 weeks prior to harvest when i'll begin flushing. Im hoping that the entire process from seed to harvest will take 10 weeks. 2 for veg and 8 flower. I'll be using a generic potting soil found at home depot etc.

    Sorry if any of these questions are very obvious but as i said i'm inexperienced and don't want to waste time or money. Please state if i missed anything or if this will work, thanks.

  2. Just to start im no expert 2 mnths into my first grow so have learned my grow space. mine is in a closet same area with led so probably same heat output. I have a couple dark blankets over a sliding closet door. dark enough to flower(excited). as for ur space concerns if u just going to go straight to flower u should have plenty of room. i have 6 short plants topped and lst'ed to even my canopy. may have to implement a screen soon. As for temp go with a digital one will tell humidity too, which also can be a factor. As for ur nutes, ur tomatoe fert may be good enough but, you may wanna save during the grow for some liquid stuff like fox farm or dyna-gro bloom formula

  3. thats a good idea using dark blankets to keep in the light, what kind of lighting are you using? also would 4 CFL 100w equivalent be enough to sustain 3 plants?

  4. Your lighting wil be more than sufficient is that actual wattage though? Some pics off your space would bee nice

  5. 4 cfl's 100w equivalent is not enough, rule of thumb 150w for 1 plant and 50w for any additional plants, with cfl's you go by actual watts not equivalent,

  6. so going by actual wattage would (4) 45 watt 5500k CFL bulbs be enough to grow 3 plants until flowering? after just two weeks of veg i would introduce a few more 23w CFL 2700k for warmer lighting. If its not enough i could always cut it down to 1 or 2 plants but as i said i wouldn't mind a smaller harvest just don't want the plants to die or slow their growth due to insufficient light.

  8. <br class="Apple-interchange-newline">the actual wattage was to be 23w but supposedly equivalent to 100w incandescent. After feedback i decided to increase it to 45 actual watts of CFL for each 4 bulbs. my setup is just an empty sliding door closet right now as i'm waiting on seeds/equipment in the mail just havent decided on proper lighting
