I'm a medicinal user and use it as medicine, thus need it constantly. Meds are top shelf and clean. (the white-est ash you have ever seen, the smoothest smoke you have ever had). Now I've dropped smoking joints/bongs for a couple weeks now and have noticed a great difference form when I was smoking. Never used tobacco. (well a blunt here and there a couple months ago, but not anymore). However I am dealing with this problem now, where after I vape I seem to have chest tightness? (I also keep a bottle of water with me and sip on it) I have no history or asthma, and my doctor checked my throat/lungs and said I am fine and I do not have any infection/bronchitis/problem. Nothing seems to help (like cough syrup or things like that). However I tried a family members puffer (who had it for a very bad cough a couple months ago and no longer needed it) and it instantly relieves the problem. I am vaping on a mid-low setting (375-390F)
It's like my throat gets "clogged" and I cough up clear phlegm? sometimes a little yellow. (But to my knowledge if it's clear it is not a worry?) But it seems to be a problem for me!

It seems to be worst at after night time vaping sessions, or in the middle of the night if I wake up. I've been trying to supplement with edibles but still need to vape from time to time or specific/instant relief.

Anyone know what's up? Or deal with something similar?

  2. It could be acid reflux. They sell OTC medicine for it you could just try it out, or take a tums those work also and see if you get any relief if not onto the next idea?

  3. How much do you smoke? I experienced the same thing when I vaped/smoked heavily. Either lower your consumption (which might be difficult since you use it medically) or make edibles and only vape when you have to. I smoke for both medical and recreational reasons, so I lowered my consumption by only smoking for medical reasons. After a few days, the tightness is gone.

  4. Yes, smoking sometimes gives me shortness of breath, especially with a big dab but I had asthma when I was a kid. Like you I sometimes use an inhaler to open my airways to make breathing easier. THC is actually a mild bronchodilator so one would think it would open airways, not close them. I can only resolve this by thinking irritants in the smoke, maybe the oil, is what is closing our airways and our inhaler, which is a bronchodilator, opens them back up. While it's a bit uncomfortable it won't hurt you and don't worry about your sputum, that's your lungs trying to clean itself of irritants.
