Should I flip these or let them grow a few more inches?

    Hello all,

The tallest is at 20" and they're both sativas. I have about 39"that I can let these get tall in total, I've been going off of the presumption that the plants will get at least 50% taller by the time
they're ready for harvest. So at this point that'd only be 30", but is
that even a good rule of thumb to use? I've seen a few journals on here
where it looked like the plants got much taller than that, almost
    doubled in size.

They're on 14 hours of light and 10 hours of darkness right now, but I'm really tempted to make the flip
tonight to 12/12 instead of continuing to slowly increase the darkness.
Would love some feedback on that. I can't really afford to have thepots on the ground with the fan set up I have going

If you're interested here's a link to my journal, this is my first time. Journal

    Thanks in advance!

  2. You can expect them to grow 2 - 3 times in height during flower. Sativa strains may get really tall. So you could see anywhere from probably 35" to 60" plants by then end if you do not do any training.

  3. o_O thanks jay, I may need to do some training on the sativas, it's not too late for the main tops? The plants went through a not so healthy spell recently, should I wait until that clears up or get to it?

  4. Agree with Jay. You can expect some height out of sativa strains most of the time, so you better figure out a way to deal with that considering your height limitations. If you've got them back on track, go ahead and work on training or topping or whatever you're going to do. TWW

  5. I flowered a sick plant before and it turn out bad and wasted all my time to grow it. Never flower a sick plant.
I suggest you keep it healthy before u flip.

And if your plant if 20" tall now and ur max height now is 39" then you are in trouble now if u flip.

    Why?

once you start flower height double or triple, the problem is during flower you can't top or cut it as it may stress the plant and risk a hermie. Further more Plant won't recover or regrow so if anything wrong, you risk having low yeild. You can only see it hit the roof and can't do anything about it Unless you got room to LST your plant controlling it height. But I can tell u LST a flowering plant is tough due to the dedicated buds. if you start topping or any high stress training, to bring the plant height down in veg stage, plant can still recover from stress and all the high stress training. Until then when u flower, you have a ease of mind. I am not an expert, but just had this problem before and learned from it. Just my two cent worth. Hope it help
