Hey, what's going on blades? This is my first grow and I was honestly debating whether or not to start a journal. I came to realize how much each grower learns from themselves and each other with each new journal so here we go down the micro cfl rabbit hole!

    x4 23w 6400k CFL's
    x2 23w 5500k CFL's
    x1 desktop fan
    x1 intake fan
    x1 cpu exhaust fan
    x1 thermometer
    Temp Range: 80-90
    RH Range: 30-40%
    Grow cab dimensions: 2' x 2' x 3'

May 28th: I popped two bag seed using the paper towel method and planted them into two solo cups with some base soil to sprout in. The base soil mix consists of 1/3 EWC, 1/3 Sphagnum Peat Moss and 1/3 perlite.

June 8th: Both seedlings showing growth in height and expansion of true leaves. Second node beginning to come in.

June 10th: Bigger of the two seedlings is drooping slightly and showing earlydiscoloration in the cotyledons. The 2nd nodes are dragging along. The smaller seedling looks okay not too droopy but watered both accordingly due to very dry topsoil. Also had the fan blowing direct on them both for a day to strengthen the stalks.

June 11th: Very big mistake. I moved the seedlings outside onto a little table on my patio for some natural sunlight. I was keeping an eye on them for about 2 hours being cautious of the wind knocking the solo cupped seedlings right on over. Went inside for about an hour and came back outside to see both seedlings toppled over. Soil was spilled about and the seedlings looked fucked to say the least. I moved them back into the grow cab, misted them and gave them a little water. I'm really hoping they bounce back.

June 15th: The smaller of the two seedling showed very slow growth after being shocked and lost it's cotyledons very early. In fear the plant would soon run our of nutrients to grow I top dressed with EWC.

June 24th: Both seedlings bounced back accordingly and the smaller one showed slight nute burn from the EWC top dress but is looking better than before overall. They could be about ready for transplant in the coming week or so.

July 2nd: I've had a soil mixed in a 1 gal and 2 gal pots since my last attempt to grow last november that was never used. So I let them cook from the time I popped the two seedlings. When I went to go check out the soils this morning I found white fuzzy fungus growing in it. From what I can tell this is a very good sign. I transplanted the two seedlings from the solo's into the 1 gal and 2 gal. The roots were good but could have been better. I'm just happy they were not root bound!

  2. I'm a beginner so any and all help/comments are welcomed! Cheers

  3. What strain are you growing ? They'll be fine by the looks of them just be cautious of the weaker one I'm currently growing 3 white deisel haze autos and unfortunately my light (cfl) 125 w fell and burnt one of them and stunted growth a fair bit think I've managed to save her though and looks like she's muted to two heads

  4. What's up sssiiiisss? I'm currently just growing some bag seed so it's really a mystery to me. It truly bewilders me how much of a beating these plants can withstand and still bounce back! That's too bad about your plant mutating, I hope it hasn't gotten too stressed to the point of turning hermie on you.

I'm currently running just under 150w of cfls at the moment. Do you think I should upgrade with my given space and go get an LED panel? From what I've seen a lot of people get great results with a decent LED.

I'll be adding pics of the grow cab and including the amendments in my soil mix tomorrow

  5. Led although dearer too run is cheaper in the long run as they can last up to 5 years I personnaly don't mind cfl it produces great buds if used correctly

  6. These are my two

  7. Wow those are looking good! How long have you had those beauties for? And do you have a grow journal I could checkout?

This is my grow cab set up as of right now. I have half a mind to go down to the hydro shop and pick up a grow tent, the tempature is pretty difficult to regulate in my current cab.

My current soil mix consists of a base soil of 1/3 sphagnum peat moss, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 EWC then amended with Indonesian bat poo, Sumatran bat poo, happy frog tomato & vegetable, greensand and azomite. I plan on supplementing with some ACT brews twice throughout the grow; once during veg and again during flower.

  9. Loving your grow cab set up. Im going to be starting my grow journal in the morning. The plants I'm currently working with are Super Skunk bag seeds. Its my first year growing indoors. 2nd year growing experience overall. They were started outdoors with the rest of my crop so they are a bit leggy at the least, heres pics from yesterday morning, tell me what yah think. 10. Hey Stoney,

How old are those seedlings and what kind of grow medium are you using? Type if lights?

They look pretty good for the most part, I see a tad yellowing of the older leaves in the second picture. Do you think that's from a nutrient deficiency?

Link your grow journal when you have the chance. I'd be happy to follow along

  11. Seedings popped June 4th, medium is 3/4 Organic Soil, 1/4 Perlite. Lights x4 CFL 50w 6500k floro lights.

I think the yellowing may be due to over watering a bit or stress but I started them on nute water every 2 weeks just to be safe.

Will link grow journal soon, trying to get it together.

  12. Mini update here

July 10th: both plants showing excellent growth and I noticed on the bigger of the two there's slight nute burn on the very tips of the new leaves. I'm going to give her a flush and see how she does. They both seem to be loving the new environment nonetheless.

The larger plant is having a slight nitrogen deficiency I believe. It has yellowing lower leaves with brown tips. I'm going to wait it out until I give it an act brew next week. The smaller plant has been having slight deficiencies as well. I thought it might be a calcium, magnesium or potassium def and supplemented with a foliar feed of 1 tbsp of greensand in a 5 gal bucket of water aerated for 24 hours. The rusty splotches persisted and spread to new leaves. At this point I thought it was possibly insects so I sprayed her with an organic insecticide but now after looking at my soil mix I'm thinking it's the lack of dolomite lime. Maybe the pH is fluctuating too much? If anyone has any ideas to what this is it would be a great help!

Nonetheless I did go ahead and decided to top both plants yesterday. They seemed pretty stressed to the point of droopy leaves and on the smaller one it appears she ate one of the lower leaves. I gave them a misting and watering. A day later they have bounced back from the droopy leaves!

  15. Back with some news

Was getting a ACT brewed for the two plants and the day before they both showed signs of a massive calcium deficiency. I went back and looked at my soil mix and neglected the mix of any dolomite lime. This makes me believe the pH was fluctuating too much causing nute lockout. I top dressed each plant with about a tbsp of dolomite lime. But here are some pics from today.

After the ACT the new tops began forming a bit faster

    ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1437776661.375541.jpg

Hoping to see some sort of improvement. I'm planning on switching to flower in about two more weeks or so if they bounce back in time

  16. looking good man, only skimmed the pics atm :) reminds me of my past grows :)

  17. Hey thanks for stopping in to check it out! Yeah, I just needed a place to organize my thoughts more or less so you'll have to excuse the word vomit. I'd be hyped to check out your journal, mind linking it?

Any ideas for improvements? I feel as though I just need to leave then be for now but would it benefit them to start a little lst?

  18. Quick update: I plan on moving soonish so I decided to flip to flower about 3 days ago and the plants have been doing fairly well. No signs of sex quite yet but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some white hairs!

Both plants stretching and the new tops are looking awesome

  19. Week 1 flower: still no signs of sex on either plant. I started lsting the bigger plants and she now has what appears to be 5 tops or possible bud sights. The smaller plant has been real droopy when the lights are on, I'm guessing she's getting rootbound going to pick up some fox farm ocean forest and some 2 gal pots to transfer the smaller plant into.

I was also given a Chronic Thunder clone from a friend and have stuck that into the flower cab. Going to have to transplant the clone soon as it's only in a very small container.

Going to have to pick up some better materials to tie the plants down, zip ties seem a lil janky but still work for now
