Looking for a exciting job to pursue

  1. Hello everyone, I'm not sure where else to post this so here we go;

    I'm a 20 year old male living in the New England area. Lately, with emphasis on the last two years in general, I have felt a hole in my life. And I think the reason is that I don't have any kind of opportunities to do the things I like. I've worked 10 jobs in my life, out of which I only enjoyed one of them, and none of them have prepared me for the 'real world' at all. I recently moved across a few states to be with a girl, which didn't work out. Currently I'm unemployed and quickly running out of money. It's depressing, and I feel like the only thing to do is keep pushing forward. Some people may think it's strong to do so, but I disagree; I feel weak just pushing myself along aimlessly, and I wish to end that cycle here and now.

    I need to find a job or career that excites me and gives me some purpose in life.

    The tricky part is, I'm not really sure what interests me... A short, broad list would be;
    #1 spot on my list of passions; anything to do with film/tv. Directing, acting, voice acting, writing, make up, filming, literally anything to do with films would bring joy into my life ten fold. However, you really do need to know someone to get into it successfully, and I unfortunately know no one.
    #2 would probably be helping people out. I get immense satisfaction knowing I made an impact on someone in some way, and I'd like to be able to spread kindness and joy and help to as many people as possible during my life.
    #3 definitely something to do with animals/gardening/nature. I don't have a green thumb at all, but I love the idea of growing your own food/weed to consume and share. And the company of animals is always, always welcomed.

    TLDR; My main purpose for writing this out is that I'm looking to find a career that interests me based on the things I enjoy. Does anyone here do anyhting that is similar to my interests I've posted here? And if so, how did you start on your path to get there? Any details or insight would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Check out a temp agency, they could help you get on the right track.

  3. Im a lifeguard, its an exciting job i'd recommend

  4. A life guard does sound interesting, but I feel like I'd need to get in better shape. Which isn't a problem, I need to do it regardless. A temp agency is also a very good idea, I hadn't really thought about that.

  5. The secret to success is to be so passionate about something that you can't stop until you are the best at it. Along the way, people will start paying you when you get good enough. And they'll pay you a LOT when you become the best. Applies to pretty much anything.

  6. Start growing weed and dealing it but that comes with many, many risks depending on where you live

  7. One day I want to get my medical card and grow my own, but I'm nowhere near able to do that yet. One day though, hopefully.

    I am going to apply to a few animal shelters around the area. I feel like I need a job that I like right now instead of some sell out job that sucks, and working with animals just might be what I need to get out of this emotional slump. I hope one of them calls me back!

    private investigator would be badass

  9. By the way. I work from home as an artisan tradesman. I do all my business online or by phone. I hunt, fish, garden or blaze one any time I want. I'm not going to get rich but I don't owe anyone anything and have a little something set aside.

  10. Do shit on youtube. People get rich off youtube

  11. Get a job in a awesome ass kitchen

  12. Grow pounds and start trafficking

  13. Stuntman! Exciting and in the film industry.

  14. OP sounds like volunteering is your type of fit. You get one unpaid internship and get your feet wet with something that could lead you through to an interesting career field move. But if making paychecks is important, learn how to operate a cash register. Cashiers are in virtually every business model.
