Help with BHO Decarb into caps

    Hi, some friends and I want to learn how to decarb BHO and fill up gel capsules with them for a nice high. We have an idea of the process, but I want to make sure I have it down pat before I continue and possibly screw it up. Any tips, or recommendations to our process would be appreciated, we want to make the dankest caps with the least amount of BHO as possible.


    Step 1) Heat up water to 240 degrees Fahrenheit in a pan.


    Step 2) Put 7g (in this case) of BHO in a Mason Jar closed in submerged in (2 inches?) or so of water


    Step 3) Keep the BHO in the mason jar until all the bubbles have ceased forming, we will be using a candy thermometer to ensure that the BHO does not exceed (240 Degrees F?)


    Step 4) Then we add in our Soy Lecithin & Coconut Oil (but HOW much Soy Lecithin and Coconut Oil per G of decarbed BHO? I figure 10g of Coconut Oil to 1g of decarbed BHO and idk about the Soy lecithin


    Step 5) We let the Mixture of the a) Decarbed BHO b) Coconut Oil c) Soy Lecithin - sit in 200 degree water (in a mason jar) for 30-40 minutes to allow the BHO to merge into the fat cells of the Coconut Oil?


    Step 6) We let the mixture cool until it is room temp, then we move it into our capsules using an eye dropper.


    Step 7) Put capsules in the fridge for 12 hours to allow the mixture to settle and cool.


    Please if we are wrong at any step here, or if our measurements are wrong let me know. Please try to keep all measurements in grams, as it makes everything easier rather than using teaspoons or cups etc... Thanks so much for all the help ! I really appreciate it.

    Unfortunately this recipe doesn't use BHO it uses herb and the ratios are different for herb. It says to use 15 caps for 5g of Kief/Hash but thats 15 caps for 5gs of BHO?? Thats insane, thats like .325 /g of BHO per cap, thats like $15-20 a cap lol.

    Well you asked about the process, not dosing... Put as much or as little in each cap as you want. Use your math to dilute your mixture accordingly. But all your questions were about the actual process, and that thread answers them.
    Bho and hash are interchangeable btw. I've had very fine (dab-able) bubble hash that was actually way stronger than any bho i've tried to date. Dose at your own discretion

    The thread in question has DETAILED "how much is a good dose for me?" recommendations, maybe you just didn't read far enough? :)

    You won't be able to decarb your BHO in water because you can't get water up to 240F. Use a vegetable oil bath instead. That's the main mistake here. You don't need to be told to read anything else. It takes less time to point out the answers than it does to tell you to read something without giving specifics. You would have missed the BHO decarb info.


    Do everything else you stated just the way you stated it except for that decarb detail for the BKS style caps. You will use a hot water bath to infuse the coconut oil just like you said. Your BHO to coconut oil ratio seems adequate. After your BHO has dissolved into the coconut oil, add 1/2 -1 teaspoon of lecithin per ounce of coconut oil and continue to heat until it fully dissolves. If you use granules, that may take a little more time but keeping it stirred will decrease the time needed for that.


    As for measurements, weigh out a half teaspoon of lecithin and use that weight for each fluid ounce of coconut oil. An ml of coconut oil weighs 1.09g/ml and if you use 10g of oil, you only have 10ml of it, 1/3 fl. oz, so measure accordingly.

    And be careful dosing. Those will be potent since you'll only get about 15 "00" caps.
