Advice on led bulbs

  1. Hey guys,I'm going to build a light fixture for my small growspace which has a moderate heat problem just from cfls.I am growing seedlings right now under (2) 3way cfls on the 12 watt setting and when i get home from work the growspace will be between 82 and as high as 88 one day. Just under 24 watts of cfls!!! it is 13" deep 28" wide and 25" tall. I run a 50 cfm inline fan which should be enough (cant afford any more noise) I cant imagine how hot the space would get if i ran 120 watts or so while flowering. I would like to use led and cfl bulbs in the fixture, and use the ratio of (cfl to led) to control the temperature; as my room gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Can anyone give me advice that has done this before? I also know very little about led spectrum. From what i understand is that people grow using leds with blue and red spectrum through both vegging and flowering, correct me if i am wrong. What do you guys think about these lights, the 30 watt is more then i would like to spend, but it seems like a great light and the 18 watt seems to be a great price, but would prefer to be able to use the lights horizontally, but anyway what do you think about it overall?http://www.ledlight.com/led_grow_light_30_watt_e39_85_260_vac_hps_mh_replacement_ncnr.aspxhttp://www.everbuying.net/product757119.html?currency=USD&gclid=CjwKEAjwqqmsBRDGy_3h_eS80jYSJACS95Cv-1Pgaa5uz7W0DbSpYkiC2Qe-Im-rylaZMs4_Gu-V4RoCoXLw_wcB

  2. Go with Cree led bulb from Home Depot much better than cfl's and cooler. I myself make cob panels you can too

  3. Do you know the model number of the bulbs you bought? I just recently bought (2) 14w phillips, was tired of searching through the hundreds of bulbs online haha

  4. no but just type in cree in the homedepot search and get the 100w equivalent and you'll be ok they are like $21 ea

  5. Anything special about them? Cause the phillips I bought are 100w equivalent, and we're just $10. Do you know if they have higher wattage okay to grow with?

  6. Cree is the best led on the market right now that's all

  7. What makes them so? Lumens per watt, durability..? I know cree definitely has the biggest names in led lights, I'm an electrician and almost 70% of led's we install are made by cree because they have greatly diverse products but comparing apples to apples what makes then better?

  8. you have already answered the your quesion when you said lumens per watt and durability lol

  9. Haha that was just a guess lol, wasn't sure if they were true, I haven't looked into them that far.

  10. I have been doing research on diy led's and it seems as though using strips are most cost efficient (correct me if i'm wrong) I would want to make something between 100 and 150 watts. I see people using the smd 5050's alot would you recommend those?

  11. no Cree or Bridgelux. Checkout my diy thread

  12. Going to get some hookers tonight

  13. You only make mention of cod lights. Is there any strip lights you would recommend?
