I am amused at the pathetically low numbers of New Yorkers who registered their so-called assault rifles,” New York State Rifle & Pistol Association President Tom King said. “The number of individuals who registered their guns is 24,000 and many of these are law-enforcement officials mandated to comply by their department.”
“New York gun owners know it is flawed and they are not complying with it. I am confident that we will ultimately prevail in getting significant portions of the law overturned in the courts.”

The SAFE Act, which created a gun registry for semiautomatic weapons using detachable magazines, was practically ignored by both gun owners and sheriffs since it was signed into law by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in 2013.
Protestors against the law marked the April 15 registration deadline by destroying state registration cards.
“They have been shredding the Constitution for years,” gun owner Rus Thompson said. “You shred the Constitution, we'll shred any form you want us to fill out.”
“They can't arrest a million people. What are they going to do?”
Erie Co. Sheriff Timothy B. Howard publicly said he wouldn't enforce the SAFE Act.
“The Constitution is the law of the land,” he stated. “If you know it's a violation of the Constitution, how can you enforce it?”
Howard described the SAFE Act as one of the strongest examples of the government not listening to the people.
“It's an unenforceable law and I believe it will ultimately be declared unconstitutional,” he said. “Do you want law enforcement people that will say ‘I will do this because I'm told to do this, even if I know it's wrong?'”

Where did the AlexJones site come up with the figure of "Millions", with regard to the number of assault gun owners who refuse to register their weapons? This is preposterous. About 4.5 million people in NYS own guns, and he's trying to convince us that fully half of them are refusing to comply with this law by not registering certain types of weapons. I'm not even going into wheter the law is right or wrong, because that's a different issue, I'm simply saying that there's no way half of all the gun owners in NYS are practicing civil disobedience. Perhaps 5%, or about 250,000, people, have some guns that are supposed to be registered and they aren't.

More Bullshit spam from DivineVictoryX, as usual.

  8. Luckily there is no gun registration in my state. The gun store only has the receipt if they have kept it for years.
I won't register mine if they ever ask me to.

  9. You will need to marry a sibling to go full redneck.... :)

Posts by people like DivineVictoryX are sort of like an old comedy TV show, GET SMART, which some of you are too young to remember, about a bumbling secret agent. He would say something ridiculous, and when the person was unconvinced, he'd add, "Would you believe.....". This is the same thing with the Alex Jones and Forbes articles. Alex Jones, of course, is a totally unreliable nut job that makes Maxwell Smart look like a beacon of intelligence, and Forbes is shilling for the gun manufacturers.

There are 19.75 million residents in New York State. Out of that, it's estimated that there's 4.5 million gun owners total. If two million people were refusing to register some of their guns, as AJ claims, it would be close to half the gun owners, and over 10% of the total population of the state, which includes over 15 million non-gun owners.

The fact is, nobody knows how many unregistered guns there are, so these gun nuts say anything they want, and claim that it's based on research at gun shows. There's simply no way that 5% (Forbes), or 10% (AlexJones), of the total population of New York State has one or more unregistered weapons.

  11. Yea! No one needs to know which guns commit which crimes! Why would we need a database for that? Makes way more sense to let people use guns in domestic violence, robberies, murders, domestic terrorism, and more. Then figure it out after the crime happens, or we could just force manufacturers to register all guns that come in the country and submit a mold of each barrel produced, and place an RFID chip in each barrel for further unique identification since it is so easy to change ballistics.

  12. Rednecks Smoke Weed??

  13. Rednecks snort weed.

    Smoking is for pussies....

  14. Rednecks: Yes, some of us do.

Guns: Hahahahaha, fuck Cuomo in the ass. With an "assault" rifle.

I hope he runs for prez someday and gets laughed off the stage. Not that he's necessarily worse than any other asshole that runs, but living in upstate all my life I have a learned hatred of NY liberals.

  15. Hahaha, is this sarcasm? I sure hope so. That is not only unrealistic but completely absurd.

  16. Damn, what are people trying to hide by not registering their guns? Or are they just wanting to get out of the responsibility of proving they are actually a responsible gun owner?

  17. LOL @ more sarcasm.

  18. Yeah, because anyone who might have a question that goes against what you sat is being sarcastic.

LOL @ supressing my 1st amendment right while promoting your 2nd amendment one.

I personally have nothing to hide, which is why I don't wear clothes in public with my social security number tattooed across my chest.
