Mannnn this is a topic I could go on for days about, as over the past 7 years, I've noticed so much about the world around me. You know, when I was working at IHOP and going to school like I was supposed to do everyone was just fine with me then. It was when I quit IHOP, stopped focusing so much on school and started carving out my own path to success that all the haters showed up out of left field.

I could use any of my recent accomplishments in the past 7 yrs to illustrate this but I'll use one we can all relate to. About 7 years ago is when I started growing the great herb. It's funny, when I started NO ONE would support me. I mean NO ONE. All the pothead friends, hustlers, dealers I knew.. you would think one of them would step up and be like "Yo let's get it." Not even close. Really everyone looked down on me for it. You had the people who let FEAR control them and they were more worried about the sentencing guidelines for growing than they were about the reward. Then you had the people who were impatient and didn't want to work for 6 - 8 months for something that wasn't guaranteed. Then you just had the lazy people. Everyone acted like I was going to grow some straight up bush plants and had to be a high level botanists to succeed.

I soon started to realize that for whatever reason no one wanted to see me succeed at growing, even if in the long run it would benefit ALL of us. I mean come Oct./Nov. it's no coincidence that certain people try to be cool with you but in March they have a million reasons why you can't do it.

That was all cool because I learned a long time ago that people want you to conform to the image they have of you and when you break the mold it makes them very uncomfortable for whatever reason. I also learned that people don't want to see you make progress to the point that even if your progress would better both of your situations, they would just be like fuck it I'll stay right where I'm at.

What I really don't get is that I've proven that I know how to grow now and I know people who want to themselves. Dudes who have never planted a seed and I have some rough seasons and good seasons experience now and they don't want to work with me or ask me questions and use my experience to get better. It's like they just want to do it on their own and try to one up me.

Anyhow, what is up with people and their insecurity and self centeredness? Are people really that threatened by someone being "better" than them? I'm a DIY kind of guy so I usually take the tough routes to get better at something, but I take help and advice anywhere I can get. It's days I long for somebody better than me to come along and show me better ways, or I wish that somebody who was more successful than me would work with me so they could help me sharpen my skills. I'm not threatened by people being better than me, so I just never understood it

  2. One of the biggest fears is failure, so some people feel threatened by those who have fortitude. Some people are scared by 'authorities', as you said some are lazy. When so much can be done digitally, actually doing something is daunting.

Idk, just a couple thoughts i had. Hope your growing flourishes, there is never enough cannabis in the world.

  3. It's a culture. We mould this ego and way of interaction into ourselves as a society. We don't realize how at odds we are with truth. We're drowning in our assumptions and judgement.

We don't believe in freedom. We don't even know what it is anymore.

  4. Its like some guy going up to Mcdonalds and trying to get their "special sauce formula"...

  5. One thing is true though. The results you get out of life are only the right side of the equation... everything about YOU is the left side. So if these are the results I was getting it tells me alot about the value I've created. Not that I'll be able to change these individuals but there is another plateau where the results I get reflect more what I become.

    Hope that makes sense.

  6. More power to you bro. I agree with NorseMythology, there is never enough cannabis in the world. Just remember something my dad used to tell me, "If you don't have a line of haters then your doing something wrong".

  7. nice read, inspiring to say the least.

  8. Sounds like too many people know you are growing.

  9. sounds like you're reading too much into it...

But I suppose it's smarter to grow in your closet, not tell anyone, but come on sites like this and plaster pictures all over the place that you took with your I Phone? That sure would be smart.

  11. I'd never encourage anyone to do that, either, but as long as you turned location services off, it might not report your precise location when you post those pics.

If you've had all these people busting your balls about growing. There are a lot of people with a get out of jail free card by way of snitching you out if they get busted. Now sure, the people that busted your balks and ate jealous of your success would never do that but just sayin'.

  12. I don't know where you're getting "all these people" from. It's people I either started growing with and they quit, or people that I was looking for an indoor spot to grow so I asked them about it. I have 1 person I talk to on a regular basis and another person that I see once maybe every other week. Other than that I live a solo life and am out of sight, out of mind for the most part.

You don't get cookies for snitching with no info and most people don't know shit. If they did they would go and take the plants themselves. It's not like I do it in my house or I have a commercial grow somewhere. It's a few plants.. who cares.

  13. You were crying about all the people that weren't supportive of your ambition to grow. I just assumed that listing all the different types of people dissin' you for growing meant that lots of different types of people heard you telling them or showing them about your grow. Silence is golden. Not that I care. It's your life. Do what you want.

But here's a thought. If you don't want people busting your balls about something you do, stop talking about it.

I couldn't give a shot what anyone thinks about me growing my own meds. It's no one else's business and i like keeping it that way. I don't need either the approval or attention.

  14. You completely missed the point.. I guess you're just slightly dense.. but that is cool. I could've used ANY example like I said. Nobody is crying about anything.. the point is about EGO, peoples insecurities, and how it makes them react to seeing anyone get ahead. The fucking topic says it all.. but I guess your skull density kicked in when you started reading. This is the philosophy section NOT the grow section... I think you're lost.. go back in your browser and give your growing advice to someone somewhere else. LLS.

  15. If you didn't care why even say something.. and it has nothing to do with the TOPIC! It's not about growing... I could've talked about me starting my own business but I chose something everyone could relate to. Did I ever say anything like "I can't take how people won't support me" or " I wish someone would help me". You're way out in left field without a glove.. LMAO. I'm trying to understand the psychology behind insecurity. ONCE AGAIN.. it's the PHILOSOPHY section.. catch up dude.

  16. You're telling me people didn't support your decision to quit your job and divert your attention away from school in order to focus on growing drugs? I'm speechless.

LMAO.. you're being sarcastic right? I hope so. I didn't FOCUS on growing drugs. The path I took led me to starting my own business and choose to go to a technical school and go BACK to school for electronics engineering. READING is FUNDAMENTAL but comprehension is even more important. If that is what you took from reading all of that I really feel bad for you.

The point is when you conform and take the simple path that has been laid out for you, you fit in and everyone loves you. The rewards are little.

When you go against the grain people like this guy show up, the fearful ones who are speechless when people don't do as a good ole boy should. However, the rewards are greater.

No risk, NO REWARD. Don't let people's simplicity, conformity, and inability to take risk or think for themselves stop you from trying something that can open your eyes to a bigger picture that will change your world.

  18. How much hand holding do you need? I quit a six figure job to become an artisan making half what I did. My decision. Why do you feel you need approval or support to do what you are going to do.

  19. Yea, you obviously don't get it. Just move on.

  20. Yeah, apparently not.
