The purpose of gun regulations is to prevent criminal or mentally ill ppl from acquiring a weapon It's not a foolproof plan but if u prevent one person with mental health issues from killing someone else with a licensed weapon it would be successful Ppl r putting so much energy into defending the 2nd amendment tht all other amendments have been practically repealed Right to own a weapon is one thing, having undisputed immediate access to any weapon u want ASAP is a completely different thing

Why isn't gun safety taught in schools? I learned how to use a bow and arrow in gym class...teach people proper use of a weapon and they won't be scared of it. The church shooting could have been stopped if one person was armed. I saw a story that happened where somebody went to shoot up a church and there was a citizen carrying and guess what happened? 2 people died when he shot them in the parking lot, made his way inside the church and got put down. Do you know where there has never been a mass shooting? Gun shows, hundreds of armed people, thousands of guns not one shooting...hmm, why is that if guns are so dangerous? New gun law : there will be FREE government run gun safety programs available to all who want it. Maybe make this gun safety program a mandatory along side a universal background check and than no gun/attachment should be banned.

When job application with a black sounding name with the same qualifications as an application with a white sounding name, guess which one gets way more responses. On social media, forums that aren't closely monitored have plenty of racial slurs and hate speech towards blacks. Voter ID laws target blacks to weaken their voting power. Terrorism against blacks is less common these days but blacks still do face racism.

At one point there was a mass shooting every month. Did the government try and take away everyone's guns? No, they know that there would be another Civil War if they tried. The worst they might do is make it harder for criminals and the mentally ill to get guns. Which really isn't the end of the world.
This is barely the same. The bows and arrows used in gym class weren't meant to be used as weapons. Yeah, we were taught to be safe, but it was meant for sport. Guns shouldn't be in schools period. It's kind of a sad thing when people are actually saying the only way for schools to be safer is to arms them.
