Just taking a poll on what nutes someone should use on a first time grow. This will be relevant to hydro NOT soil. I have seen many people arguing recently on whether 2 part or 3 part should be used.

Additionally, it would be nice if someone would mention how many OZs (or size bottles) one should buy to last an entire grow.... say 4 plants from start to finish.

Thanks, this will help alot. Amazon links encouraged, Bahahaha.

  2. GH Flora 3-part is solid, the 1l bottles will last about 2 grows with 4 plants.

  3. Look up B'Cuzz Nutrients. Its a Netherlands staple back home. Its available here in the US and its super easy to Use and cheap!

  4. lots of people saying this. good info, thx.

  5. I will look this up, thanks for posting.

I would highly suggest Advanced Nutrients 2 or 3 part pH perfect line, and the one liter bottles are more than sufficient for one grow. This is also my first grow, and I have four ladies all 50 days from seed and they are humongous, I can only imagine them in a hydro setup!!! Btw these nutrients are made for hydroponics I just use them in soil.

  7. if you are going to grow organically there is company here in Denver called key to life and it's all i use and only a 4 by 4 with 4 plants i can pull 3 a light. they have isolated special bacteria in their roots life microbes that won't compete with eachother so your soil system will flourish and have a very specialized fungi as well. i discovered them when I had PM because the microbes stopped the spread of PM on cashews and apples in lab testing and it worked for me in conjunction with their foliar spray. only one plant had to get destroyed. they also have a 100% soluble powdered dehydrated molasses called key to flavor i swear by. sooo much easier than dealing with the liquid. make sure you use a potent humic and fulvic acid as well (boost and uptake). humic is essentially the best vitamin you can feed your plant and fulvic acid is a smart molecule that force feeds your plant whatever nutrients you feed it, synthetic or organic, and it will actually deliver to the exact cell that needs it the nutrient and remove heavy metals on the way out (danker bud in short). you'll also need a good source of kelp as this will help your plant breathe. i use it in the root zone and foliar spray. put calcium and magnesium in your root zone 30 mins before foliar spraying and it will force uptake for you. i'd use those guys if you're going organic. liquid karma is one of the better synthetics for the kelp and humic sources, and fulpower is a good synthetic source of the fulvic. fulvic on labels will be listed as humic but only because labeling agencies dont recognize it yet but ask any dude at the grow store that knows anything and they'll school you on it

  8. Everyone is different. Personally, if I had known about AN PH perfect nutes I would of bought them. Adjusting PH is miserable especially with these PH meters ... Yuck! I'm using a modified Lucas formula that works. Heads coco 6/9 grow bloom. With this, supposedly you're feeling your plants all it needs and no need to flush.

If too lazy for PH adjustment.

Advanced nutrients PH perfect. But you will end up buying additives because you will think they'll help.

  9. OK so quite a few people are into the Advanced Nutrients. I for sure thought some would be into the flora series. Nice to see we are getting some posters.

PS. Twan they look great BTW.

  10. So are you trying to tell me that you believe additives don't work?

  11. From what I've heard. Additives are useless with Lucas ratios because they already provide all the nutes needed. Advanced nutrients leave certain nutrients out of the base nutes.. Then on their calculator you need the additives.. Theynjust then just rebottle it as a separate gallon and make more money.. I don't need rhino skin or big bud with Lucas, that's been proven by other growers.

  12. Don't know anything about Lucas nutrients, are they working good for you, let's see your grow! Where do you people get this information from about Advanced Nutrients, don't believe what people tell you take the time and do the research yourself and you'll come to find that all of these additives play a important role, can you go without them yes....but with good genetics, good light, the right environment, and good nutrients plus the right additives plants can reach their full potential! My plants are 50 days from seed 19 inches tall 24 inches wide under 600w!

I marked this as the best answer for me because it was simple and had all the elements/answers I was looking for. Everyone else feel free to post their favs too. I will be learning as I go when it comes to the nutes and more info is better than less.

  14. I personally believe that most additives are completely unnecessary and are yet another attempt for the Big Cannabis Fertilizer companies to squeeze yet another dollar out of your pocket.

Learn to grow healthy plants with basic nutrients and they will produce.

I don't use anything other than the main Flora nutes in DWC and my resin production is unreal, and my plants in soil get nothing but water and seaweed extract.

  16. This sounds like words of wisdom to me, I will adhere to it.

  17. I've just been there/done that. Man I used to spend so much money on nutrients - I HAD to have this; HAD to have that because I wanted the best buds on da corner. I finally realized I just wasn't doing any better than when I first started out using a one part Grow and a one part Bloom by Eco Nutrients.

Holy Shit, a small bottle of Boost by Canna was $66.00 - there ain't a fertilizer in the world worth that and it took me many years to realize it. I stopped using all the expensive additives and just start back on a basic nutrient regime and my plants were just as good. I did side by side comparisons and couldn't see a difference. I can only imagine how much money I wasted over all those years. Every week at Da Grow Store on payday...

  18. Now this is good to know... Perhaps you and I can talk more later? I had not heard of the seaweed extract yet moreover, I think this can be applicable to me as I just purchased a RDWC setup. Additionally, if you are up for it perhaps you would be willing to answer some "how to" questions from me regarding the ratio/formula of the GH FLORA series in conjunction with my RDWC, Pweeze :)

    Let me know, Thx

  19. Wait, Floraduo? As in a 2 part flora series? I haven't googled that yet, but I will right after this post, LoL. I was wondering why everyone keeps saying Flora GMB, but according to a Lucas formula no need for (grow?) I think, something like that. I'm still a noob, take it easy on me guys, LoL. I can only do so much reading on my time off.

Would be nice if there is a 2 part in GH, then I woudn't really need the 3 part like others are suggesting, Sigh. So much info, So little time.
