But either way, I'm going to make sure I get a little edge off or put up.†Chong, who participated in Dancing With The Stars this past season and holds the title of the oldest contestant to make it to the semi-finals, tweeted the news himself. He also told fans that he would do his best to keep them updated on his progress via the Cheech and Chong podcast. Chong rose to fame in the 70's through his film and comedy partnership with Tommy “Cheech†Marin. The duo split in 1985, after which Chong continued his career in movies and television, with guest roles on That 70's Show and Dharma and Greg. He recently reunited with Marin during his stint on Dancing With The Stars, when Marin showed up to escort him onto the stage for his first number (in a car, no less.) Chong was previously diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2012, when he was public about using marijuana as a way to treat the disease.
Sending love and light to Chong...he's made me laugh so much over the years. My dad and I used to watch Up in Smoke all the time when I was a kid so I grew up with him. If laughter isn't the best medicine, maybe weed is. Either way, Chong's in good hands!
