safe storage of edibles

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by PatrickXy6dC, Jun 18, 2015.

  1. I'm not sure this belongs in this forum.  I keep my edibles in the freezer in bags that say "Do Not Eat".  We have a 13 year old, kind of an adopted grandson, hanging around.  He frequently fixes himself something to eat.  I've never seem him going in the freezer, but became aware I need to lock up the edibles.  Mine are strong and if he got into them he would be messed up bad and probably pass out.  It wouldn't be pretty.  I bought a small, lockable pelican case that luckily all my stuff fit into.  I feel much safer knowing he can't get to them.  I had some canna cookies in the freezer years ago and my sister in law asked my wife could she eat some.  Needless to say the sister in law was pissed when she got really high from the cookies.  They came on while she was driving home.  MY wife had forgotten they were canna cookies.

How do other people protect their edibles?

  2. you don't mark your edibles? you should for the same reason people mark medication containers. so someone doesn't do what you just described, driving home and then having shit kick in like that. if she would have got into an accident and killed someone you would have been responsible.

i mark my stuff with the date i made them, what i used to make them and how much i used of it to make them. i have to say, that is kind of irresponsible. glad you're locking said medication up now. you just saved yourself a world of hurt. and no, don't tell the 13 yo kid you have pot brownies or whit ever in your home. he will find your stash and he will raid it. if not him then maybe one of his friends or acquaintances. you never know what they will say to their friends and while you may trust that young man, its his friends you should be worried about.

  3. ajroxit, thanks for the advice.  I don't have many
edibles at a time, but marking
them would be a good idea.  I didn't want anything labeled loose in the freezer, hence the "Do Not Eat" on the bags.  I wouldn't trust the young man as far as I could throw him.  I know he wouldn't keep his mouth shut so I have been careful around him.  I feel much better with the items in a nice lockbox.  Next time I'll start labeling my stuff so I don't forget what strength it is and the date I made them.

I am  used to only my wife and I using the freezer.  I never dreamed her sister would raid the freezer.   Then my wife  mistakenly told them they were ok to eat.  I know I have been irresponsible. I keep all my cannabis locked up except for a little in my kief box.

Thanks again for the ideas, mate.

  4. Everyone at my house knows not to touch anything that says: "Mom's". Everyone at the house is grown up no one under 21.

  5. You need to wrap your edibles in foil that disguises their form (if they're brownies, say), put it in a freezer bag, then mark it:
    "Liver"
    "Chicken backs/necks for soup stock"
    "Fecal sample for doctor"
    "Breast Milk"
    "Beef bones for soup stock"
    "Duck lips"
"Frozen Urine Samples / multiple STD check"
Mark it with anything that won't make a kid curious. HTH.

  6. Get a mini refrigerator with a good handle made of metal. Once you do that you can get a lock at the local hardware store and put the lock on the handle. What really works great is a good bike lock. Keep it in your basement or somewhere that people are not going to be asking about what's inside.

  7. Thanks, I have an extra small size fridge which would work well. A targus box with a padlock on it looks funny in the freezer.
