Need Helping, Buying for the first time?

    Hi Everyone![​IMG]
     Okay, So if you can't tell by the title, I'm gonna be buying for the first time. I just want to make this clear; I don't smoke, never have. The weed isn't for me, i'm surprising my boyfriend and his friend who are coming to visit me. I really don't know anything about weed. All I know is a dime(that's what my boyfriend usually buys). I'm looking to buy about $250 from a dealer I know. All I wanna know is, could anyone help me out with some terms or slang I could use, so it's looks like I actually know what I'm doing? Lol I just don't want to get ripped off/ look stupid.

    250$ worth of cannabis is alot. Make sure your dealer can sell you that much and just make it happen. If youre worried about getting ripped off, you could always buy a scale to weigh the grass. Also, your boyfriend is extremely lucky to have a girl that picks such thoughtful gifts. Good luck!

    Well $250 will get you an ounce or better in most states. (atleast here thats the price for an ounce)

    Definitely don't come out saying what you have to spend- that's an easy way to get burned.

    $250 would cover an ounce of the best stuff where I live, and that would last me about a month or 2 depending on how generous I am with my friends. I don't know how long your bf is staying for, but more than likely you don't need that much.

    I would say for a week or so you probably are only going to need a half (14 grams, like $100-150) if they blaze like crazy, or 1/4 (7g $50-75). You can spend the money I just saved you on pizzas, Carl's jr., Twizzlers, Pop Rocks, cereal, ice cream, honey BBQ fritos, a birthday cake (especially if it's nobody's birthday), gummy worms, and nachos.

    don't settle for less than an ounce, or zip, or 28 grams...also make it clear you have a scale and don't tell your dealer you don't/haven't smoked

    Tell him you need a little over an ounce. Ask if its mids or dank. If its mids, tell him you would need 2 ounces. Dank, a little over an ounce.

    ... thats prices where you live..the term 'mids' also depends on where you live. $250 will get you ~3 ounces of 'mids' in Georgia(but its not really mids, its crap but its still called mids), and depending on where in Georgia and who you can get it from $250 will get you either close to an ounce (like 20 grams) or an ounce(if you got a good hookup). Not over. Never over. But that's my area, different prices. 
     
    So it would be wise for people to stop posting '$250 should get you an ounce' because you guys have NO IDEA what an ounce goes for in OPs area (and neither does the OP). In fact pretty much all we can say is if your paying more than like 380 than it's a rip off (because that's the most I have heard ounces go for in expensive areas). You could get an ounce of dank as little as $140 or $360 or more in other areas. So trying to tell OP how much to get is pretty dumb. 
     
    @OP you have never bought or sold weed and you are going to try to buy $250 worth of weed for the first time. We don't know where you live. We don't know the prices in your area. You don't know the prices in your area. Based on the fact that your boyfriend buys dimes it doesn't sound like he knows the prices either. $250 could get you an ounce. It could get you less. It could get you more. We don't know.
     
    Unless your like, best friends with this dealer I would in no way spend $250 you are asking to get ripped off ESPECIALLY if you say something like 'give me $250 worth'. I would strongly suggest you ask your circle of friends who smoke what the prices are. That's really the only way you can get a fair price estimate. FYI dime = $10 worth of weed(theres is no set weight amount it's supposed to be), don't do that, that's for: highschoolers, people buying their shit in the ghetto, and people who just want some bud to smoke and don't give a shit about being ripped off. Ask how much it is for X amount of weight.

    Well man, thats the prices in my area. I live in kentucky and mids is around 140-160 an ounce.

    Weed will look different depending on what strain it is, or what type it is, sativa, indica etc... but usually an indica nug that's around 2g will look about the same size a bic lighter, maybe a little fatter...


    The best way to be sure you're getting your money's worth is to tell your dealer to bring scales, otherwise on buying that much for someone who hasn't bought in the past he'll more than likely take out a few grams, you won't know the difference anyway.
