Bernie Sanders STUNNED By Ron Paul Like Crowds

  1. An article from NPR states Bernie Sanders:

"[He's] Attracting some of the same types of voters who have been drawn in the past to libertarian Republican Ron Paul and 2004 Democratic candidate Howard Dean."

In an upcoming Denver rally, 3,000 people have registered.

Also he received a lot of money from his recent Money bomb!

Freedom and Liberty are Very Popular!

  2. Awesomeness!!

  3. What? Please tell me the ron Paul.crowd isn't getting behind him

  4. hopefully

  5. I think both crowds respond to them because they both seem like somewhat straightforward, consistent, and take hard line stands by politician standards. I happen to like both candidates and would probably vote for either of them over most other candidates. I think they overlap a little on foreign policy, domestic surveillance, and some of the big things that a president has a lot of control and influence over. They do however fundamentally disagree about most economic based things, yet neither of them will probably be able to get their full agenda through congress anyway on economic based things so I would feel comfortable voting for either. I'm also just sick of politicians who don't honestly speak their minds and you can tell these two are in it for more than just themselves and power. They actually talk about the issues and their positions instead of constantly taking cheap shots and playing the blame game.

Thought I would leave this video here. Michelle Bachmann debates Bernie Sanders and it's fucking hilarious.

  6. Fuck she's rude.

  7. Right haha. Won't give the guy two seconds to talk. You can tell Bernie just wants to slap her, but maintains his cool. I would lose my shit on her if I was in his position.

  8. Many of my Libertarian friends in northwestern MA who supported Ron Paul in 2012 are now intending on campaigning for Sanders. As a Vermonter, I can say that he's always had a coalition of Libertarians, progressives, and Eisenhower Republicans behind him. I am a Sanders fan, by the way.

  9. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said Tuesday that he supports the decriminalization of marijuana possession and the legalization of medical marijuana, and suggested that he's also open to considering further reforms when it comes to recreational marijuana.
"Let me just say this," Sanders began in response to a question about his position on the war on drugs during a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" style interview. "The state of Vermont voted to decriminalize the possession of small amounts of marijuana and I support that. I have supported the use of medical marijuana. And when I was mayor of Burlington, in a city with a large population, I can tell you very few people were arrested for smoking marijuana. Our police had more important things to do."
With regard to full marijuana legalization, Sanders said he will look to Colorado, where recreational marijuana is legal, to see the effects of such a policy change. Colorado was the first state to legalize the drug for recreational purposes. It's now fully legal in four states and in Washington, D.C., though sales remain banned in the District.

"Colorado has led the effort toward legalizing marijuana and I'm going to watch very closely to see the pluses and minuses of what they have done," Sanders wrote on Reddit. "I will have more to say about this issue within the coming months."
Sanders, who announced in April that he will run for president in 2016, has acknowledged using marijuana when he was younger. The senator has been a vocal critic of the decades-old war on drugs, telling Time magazine in 2014 that he had "real concerns" about U.S. drug policy.

"We have been engaged in [the war on drugs] for decades now with a huge cost and the destruction of a whole lot of lives of people who were never involved in any violent activities," he told Time.
Sanders' home state is one of 23 that have already legalized marijuana for medical purposes. It's also one of 19 that have decriminalized the possession of small amounts of marijuana for personal use. In addition, Vermont is one of a handful of states currently exploring legislation that would legalize recreational marijuana. At least 10 states, including Vermont, are expected to consider these or similar legalization measures by 2016.

A string of recent polls have shown that a majority of Americans support the legalization of marijuana. Yet the federal government continues to ban the plant, classifying it as one of the "most dangerous" drugs alongside heroin and LSD.
"It's really exciting to have Sen. Sanders express unequivocal support for decriminalization and medical marijuana," said Tom Angell, chairman of the drug policy reform group Marijuana Majority, to The Huffington Post. "And reading between the lines, it seems to me like he's getting ready to endorse full legalization soon. A growing majority of voters supports marijuana reform, and more candidates are starting to recognize that it makes good political sense to court the cannabis constituency instead of criminalize us."

  10. I think he is the only choice to get a hair in the right direction. He has a lot of hoops to jump through. I think if anyone who supports him tries to have educated conversations about him to spread awareness to the current problems in America they would be on his side. I can't think of anyone running I would rather vote for. I've had a few conversations about him so far. All very positive.

  11. He's one of the few politicians who actually seems like a real human being who really cares about the country. I can't think of a politician I respect more, even though we don't agree on everything.

  12. do you really believe he cares?

    -yuri

  13. As a Vermonter, I have a degree of authority in saying that I do believe he cares about working people. He's always been an excellent public servant, from his mayorship of Burlington to serving in the Senate. I know that sounds like a platitude but it's what I believe.

  14. if he cared about he working class he wouldn't be running on the Democrat platform.

The Democratic party is the party of the rich, and the working class eats up their lies like food stamps

    -yuri

  15. If he were running as a Independent, his platform would not enjoy one tenth of the attention it has been recieving. Not to mention the whole Nader thing. I can't engage you on your superlatives about the Democratic party because the Democratic wing of the Democratic party (as Howard Dean called it) still very much exists and has been filling gymnasiums to hear Bernie Sanders speak.

  16. the media won't let this guy win.. they will award the nomination to Hillary.

  17. paraboid

    -yuri

  18. i'm assuming you meant "paranoid?"

    why do you think that?

  19. yea but I cannot edit posts right now until they fix the android app

Also that was a joke. I don't actually believe "the media wont allow him to win" is paranoid.

    -yuri

  20. Bernie is the only hope
