How did Weed help you lose weight?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Harren, Jun 7, 2015.

  1. Some people lose weight when they begin toking, and was wondering what changes did you make to lose weight or become skinny?

I used to shy away from weed because of the "Munchies" but it seems like I can actually make it help me lose weight

I started not eating as much as possible until an hour or two before the sunset. Mainly because I started waking and baking and don't want to eliminate the energetic high before I'm done with the day

However, maybe my system sucks, and maybe you have a better method

  2. Spend all your food money on weed.

  3. Weed wasn't the reason I lost weight but it did help in enjoying the food I ate on the schedule I follow when I first started. (I'm a daily smoker. A bowl for breakfast, lunch, and dinner type of guy). I fast for 16 hours and eat all of my calories/meals in the 8 hour period following that.

Eat a small breakfast at 10AM, A light lunch at noon, fruits and veggies, dips, hummus, etc. the rest of the day til around 4, then I start walking my dogs and go for a jog.  Get back, shower, eat a big dinner around 6.  Then I stop eating til the next morning around 10 just drinking water and green tea.  Went from 260 to190 in one year.

  4. I dropped 90 lbs after I started smoking, but I also quit booze and soda at the same time. Who's to say which helped more, but I started walking 5 miles a day and slowly got back into playing hockey after a 10 year lapse from chubbing out. My doctor described my weight loss as alarming and impossible after a few months, but I just sort of shrugged it off. I felt great and I really didn't change my diet all that much.

I've wondered if bud helped, and I've read information both supporting and denying that smoking can aid in weight loss. I took on a pretty physical job, and if I get a meal during the day it's just a small snack- so maintaining has come fairly easy. I still work out when I get out no matter how tired I am, then I smoke and have an actual meal before watching a movie and calling it a day.

I guess if I have any advice it would be find a few things in your diet you can live without and cut ties completely, and find an hour a day to devote entirely to whatever exercise you feel comfortable with. I like walking because I can put on my ipod, take whatever pace I'm feeling that night, and sometimes I toke at a deserted stretch about halfway through and just enjoy the scenery. Whatever you decide, stick to it and introduce more good habits as you go and you'll get results. Best of luck!

  5. congrats man that's a big damn accomplishment

  6. I lost 8 inches off my waist and around 50 pounds over the last 8-1/2 months since I began consuming cannabis again. At first, I was very surprised because I thought the munchies would have, if anything, caused increased weight gain and I was cautious about that. But for no apparent reason, I noticed my clothes getting looser fitting. I did some research and found out that it's something many others have reported. A few months ago, I joined the YMCA And have been working out 3-4 times a week and the weight loss just went into overdrive because of that and I'm wearing clothes I couldn't get into for years.

I make a point to eat very nice but smart foods and eat more slowly, leisurely and stop as soon as I start to feel satisfied. No matter how good it tastes I'd rather leave it on my plate than plaster it onto my ass so I can strain and sweat another hour at the gym to burn it.

  7. more concious about what I eat.  Maybe that's due to the age thing as well. But I'd rather pick up some fruit or roasted peanuts for a snack now than a bag of tims cascade jalapeno chips :D

  8. I started craving healthy things, almost never eat fast food anymore.

  9. I can definitely attest to it helping me appreciate healthier food. While I smoke to stimulate my appetite, I always used to eat awful food so despite not eating often the food I used to eat would made me feel terrible. I've actually gained weight and I'm now at a healthy place. Of the reading I've done, many researchers think cannabis helps to regulate body processes. I think this a clear example of it doing just that.
