Wisconsins governor Scott Walker is a moron and does not deserve to be a presidential candidate.

  1. This guy is probably one of the dumbest/clueless politicians I've read about in a while. If this guy wins the GOP primary then I lose all faith in the GOP base, which isn't unlikely considering how he is polling. Currently, he's proposing cutting higher education in Wisconsin by at least 250 million dollars and restructuring the tenure system in a way that makes it basically non existent. Now why is 250 million dollars being cut from the budget? They are cutting 250 million dollars in education so that they can afford to fund a new 230 million dollar bucks stadium and not run a deficit. Not only is this kind of corporate welfare shocking to begin with, but funding it on the backs of college students is ludicrous and ultimately will be harmful for Wisconsin. Where is the motivation for the best educators to go to UW now that there is a weakened version of tenure. Heres a good article

    http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/6595492

Then we have bullshit like this new abortion policy, where the legislature and walker spent weeks debating this instead of better things like funding for infrastructure, which they still have no solution for. This policy would not allow anyone to get an abortion after 20 weeks which isn't that big of a deal, but the bill doesn't allow for incest or rape victims to be exempted. Now to be honest this bill isn't that big of a deal, but it doesn't really solve any issues and only potentially leads to causing them. Most abortions are had within 10-14 weeks so this won't really impact a majority of abortions. What it will do is potentially lead to someone who has experienced rape or incest not being able to abort if they changed their mind after the 20th week. Now like I said it is probably rare that this would happen, but this bill doesn't really solve anything. There wasn't any major issues about abortion after 20 weeks, so all this bill is is noise to distract from the abysmal job Walker has done in running the state.

Wants to reestablish 215 of the Patriot Act back to it's original form, which has been proven to be completely ineffective and ruled illegal.

Lastly, he has the same kick the can down the road "can never raise taxes" attitude that is just unreasonable. Take for example, his proposal to borrow an additional 1.3 billion to pay for state transportation budget. Members of the house, including republicans, are calling for the governor to raise the gas tax as well as vehicle registration fees to help pay for the transportation budget but he refuses. Mentalities like this of Scott Walker are childish and not fit to be the leader of our country. He refuses to raise taxes to pay for the obligations of the state, and instead of dealing with it asks for a bailout from someone else. It's hilarious how a self proclaimed fiscal conservative can't even balance a state budget. I can't imagine that he would be able to balance a federal budget which is much more complicated, especially if he refuses to ever increases taxes in any way.

Overall, this guy appears like he know what he is talking about until you actually listen to him talk for five minutes and you realize he's a moron. If he wins the primary for the GOP then I think I will permanently lose all faith/interest in politics. The only person in the GOP that I would vote for is Rand Paul. Not that I'm too excited to vote for Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton either.

  2. They're all dumb and that's the point.

Look up "Rick Perry embarrasses himself" it was during a live debate. Elections don't matter otherwise Ron Paul would be President

  3. No I agree they are all pretty much idiots, but this guy actually is polling pretty high right now in the GOP which is a scary thought. It saddens me that we've come to the point where funding for a new basketball stadium is more important than funding for higher education.

  5. Sadly, this is the way people have been conditioned to see capitalism. Just like the way the state wants people to view anarchy. The state creates a problem, misnames it to male the good side look like the enemy and then they sit back and reap the benefits.

What do you mean sadly. Did you read the article? This is a clear cut case of crony capitalism and it shocks me that you seemingly don't care. Since when did funding private stadiums through public means become a capitalistic idea?

  7. I meant that in regards to the statement that I quoted. The statement was socialize costs and privatized profits. That is what people have been conditioned to think that capitalism is. That is why some people think that capitalism is bad. Clearly socializing costs and privatizing profit is bad but that is not capitalism

  8. Fair enough. I could be wrong but I think the poster above me was referring specifically to the stadium project, but I can't read his mind so I'm not 100 percent. What do you think about this stadium deal just curious as a self proclaimed anarchist?

It is absurd and inexcusable to even bring it up. A sports stadium should not have any funding whatsoever from taxes. you already know how I feel about taxes but we won't even go off in that direction. If a stadium is needing to be built then the obscenely rich people who own those sports teams and the franchise can pay for it out of their own pocket and be repaid in tickets from the fans. I personally I'm not a fan of any sports at all I do not follow any sports at all and I would be pissed off if I knew that some of the money being stolen from me every paycheck was going towards a big fancy stadium so that a bunch of rich fat cats can sit around getting richer and a bunch of fat people can sit in the stands eating hot dogs and pretending like the game actually matters to them.

Since I do not believe in taxes whatsoever for any reason whatsoever I am also vehemently against taxation being used for higher education. however, since taxes are not going anywhere anytime soon I would much rather they be spent on something like higher education then a damn sports stadium. Sure, it can be good for the local economy but I don't believe it is government's place to step in and overall, other than that boost to the local economy I would do sports stadiums is one of the most worthless things we can possibly build

  10. It amazes me how many politicians who claim to be fiscally conservative will bash any kind of civilian welfare when the money is actually needed. But then when it comes to corporate welfare they will go out of their way even including slashing state budgets to fund bullshit like a new stadium. Even the Koch brothers are calling out Scott Walker for this bullshit. If you're a republican and you are getting called out by the Koch's superpac then you know you are really doing something pretty sketch or something ultra liberal and it is definitely not the latter in this case.

  11. Walker may not be brainwashed by elitist progressives but he's still a complete tool for big business, screwing everyone else.

    He's a corrupt POS.

Leaps and bounds better then the front runner Hillary Clinton. There were 4 opportunities to get rid of him and he defeated them all with a large portion of the Democratic party in that state supporting him. He had his first election, 2 recall elections via the unions who faced losing everything then another election.

The far left fears him because unlike Hillary all or most of his skeletons are out of the closet. The unions went all in looking for anything to defeat him. Not 1 but 4 elections he has one.

As for abortion the nation is still evenly split. The problem with you baby killers is you love the suppressing any form of dissent. It is my free right to argue all I want on abortion and vote for pro life candidates. I know it chaps the ass but you have to suck it up.

Oh I forgot you have Jurassic Park Sanders if Hillary fails, then you got what Governor O Malley who was the Governor of a ruined state. Baltimore sure turned out great. Who else you got?

All old, all white. All tired. Then again Bill Clinton isn't. He still sticks his decrepit penis into vagina according to various reports.

  13. First off, let's stick to Walker because that is the topic of the discussion. Saying he's better than Hillary is a whole different discussion and honestly I can't say I feel strongly between the two. I'm going to say that winning elections doesn't prove the legitimacy of a candidate. If anything the last four presidential elections, bush and obama, have proven that winning an election does not prove you were the right man for the job.

The far left fears him not because of political scheming but because he's making ridiculous plans in a state budget that will lead to making college less accessible and more public debt in the long run for his state. The long term tax that is proposed to to pay back the 220 million dollar stadium is largely agreed to not be effective enough and doesn't account for many varying factors. This means that inevitably after Walker has left office they will most likely have to raise taxes, but not under his "watch." Then he can single handedly say he saved the bucks and x number of jobs without raising taxes.

These owners are not poor individuals and can find corporate investors if they so desperately need a new stadium. It's ludicrous that so many republicans will talk about the strength of the free market anytime a social program is proposed, but will jump at the drop of a hat to help out big businesses like the NBA through corporate welfare. Cutting state funding for higher education has statistically been proven to have serious negative consequences on upward mobility, education levels of the populace, and debt levels for students. I know you have this deep seated hatred for higher education but it is undeniably beneficial to society and to argue otherwise is really just denying reality.

You had multiple times to kick him out off office. In fact more then any other Governor in recent history. If he was so bad you would of been able to but you were not so suck it up.

It was won of the most costly endeavors by the Unions in quite some time.

Your educational woes are on your. Can't pay your student loan well looks like you will have some garnishment coming your way. That is not my issue nor anyone else. Its the person you look at in the mirror. The vast majority of us really don't give a shit about what your financial issues are. If we did you would have or that person would have money flowing in to pay it off.

  15. First off, we've gone over this winning elections doesn't mean you are the right person for the job. Anyone who know anything about politics knows that the best candidate isn't often the best politician. By that logic you should support Obama since you know the American people had the chance to remove him but chose to reelect him. It's kind of like saying that the most popular music is obviously the best because otherwise it wouldn't be so popular but pretty much most people would disagree with that. Either way your first point is just extremely fallacious and does nothing to address any of the poor decisions Scott Walker has made.

Your mentality of who gives a fuck is what's gonna lead us back to being even stupider as a nation then we were in the past. You still haven't even attempted to address the fact that this money is going to fund a private stadium probably because you can't think of anything to actually rebuke what I'm saying.

Long term social programs like funding for higher education have been proven to be a net positive for society. You're honestly just an idiot or extremely selfish if you don't care that this is gonna hurt Americans in the long run. Enjoy your fantasy land where funding private stadiums by cutting higher education is only other people's problem.

I love people who have mentalities like you, where they think that anytime someone believes in a social program it's only because they want access to it. That's not the case at all. I'm fairly well off and wouldn't need any state funding for higher education. I do however recognize that there are hundreds of thousand of people in this country who are smart and have ambition but no means to pay for college. Making college even harder to access at a time where tuitions at private universities are absurd, is going to hurt Americans in the long run.

Even in the other thread about race relations, policies like these have major effects. It has been pretty much proven that state funded education drastically increases people in poverty's chances of upward mobility. So supporting policy decisions like Walkers will most likely only lead to more poverty and less upward mobility, which you also don't give a shit about it as you so eloquently put it in the other thread. Cutting education funding is not going to lead to a smarter populace, it's pretty straightforward. Now in the end, you don't give a shit probably because you seem to only care about yourself, but for a lot of people this is very concerning.

You had 4 chances. What do you require 8? Maybe in the 11th one you might get it. 4 elections in less then 10 years for that cat and he won them all.

Who are you to say the people of Wisconsin choose poorly. That is there choice not yours and it never has been nor will it ever be. If you live in Wisconsin well then you lost 4 times. Not once 4 times.  That matters as much as the lint in your belly button.

Stadiums get built all the time when its not required. Take Atlanta for instance. The Atlanta Braves are moving North out of the City into Cobb County...why because they were using a baseball field that never was intended for long term use. Could they continue to use that stadium you bet. Does it matter nope..because its there choice not mine not yours. So pound the fist and in return get a nice yawn.

    1. I honestly think you are either purposely obstinate or have terrible reading comprehension. First off, the thread is not about Wisconsin state elections but about Walker running in the presidential election, so I do get a say in what happens. Secondly, if the people of Wisconsin want him then I have no beef with that, but I certainly don't want someone who makes such boneheaded decisions in the White House.

2.Stadiums get built all the time when its not required.

    2. You fail to even address the entire point I'm trying to make with the stadium. If the Bucks had private investors to build a new stadium I wouldn't give a shit. In fact if it was private donations then I would say go for it. The problem is when the taxpayers are asked to foot the bill for large corporation, and have no realistic means to make the money back in the long run. As someone who is clearly conservative, doesn't it bother you that government is intervening in the free market, loaning out millions of dollars, and creating plans to pay for it that won't work? If the Bucks are such a money maker then they should be able to afford a new stadium and thrive without the taxpayers having to pay for about half of the cost. Especially when most taxpayers won't see the benefit, and economists largely agree that the Bucks leaving would be a negative impact, but probably not that catastrophic. Many economists have found that sports stadiums aren't as beneficial as one would expect on the local economy. The reason is because funds for things like entertainment are often very consistent in the general population. This means that if I spend 80 dollars on a bucks game, I'm not gonna go spend that 80 at a movie theater or a bowling alley or some other form of entertainment. So well the Bucks organization bring a a lot of jobs keep in mind a good majority are part time and can't sustain a person for a whole year. In addition the organization will funnel money that would have gone to other forms of entertainment and most likely would have driven job growth in other areas. It's a pretty well known phenomenon that stadiums aren't as much of an economic boom as you would expect as result of this effect.

in the end, the taxpayer shouldn't have to bail out a wealthy private corporation like the NBA who make massive amounts of profit and can afford to take a hit. Especially when it means cutting funding for important shit like education. In the end I know you're gonna ignore me and twist all my words.

    1. Ahh always so glad to be lorded over by the intellectuals who think they know better. Yes you are wiser then the people of Wisconsin. You have infinite wisdom don't you. You know whats best for the peons. Come to Texas we got a big middle finger for those of that mentality.  No one in the liberal excrement lovers mind can ever win on merritt. If they won they cheated if there a conservative. Liberals can never lose because they lost...they were cheated, discrimination or something other then the fact they lost and in that case they lost badly.

Who cares he won 4 times. As much as you might shake the fist you will never will change it. Its in the history books. 4 wins 4 losses on your side. Suck it up, bitch, moan and move on.

  19. There is a prank call on YT on Scott walker. Someone pretended to be one of the Koch shitheads. They're pulling the strings in Kansas, Wisconsin and Florida and more:
