UVB light enhancement

Discussion in 'Lighting' started by gje0708, Jun 6, 2015.

  1. There is solid science behind the fact that uvb light gives us a sunburn because it's straight up damaging our cells. Also seems like solid info on the fact that it damages plant cells and the way cannabis plants respond and defend is by producing trichomes. All that rambling just so there ain't a bunch o whining and crying bout "I know this and I know this" and we can hopefully get somebody who's done a side by side comparison with/without UVB to graciously submit....

I put 2 of the new eye hortilux power veg t5s in my 4 foot 8 bulb fixture, in the veg room, my plants have perked up, and they do have slightly larger trichomes on the newer fan leaves. I am gonna get 2 more and see what happens.

  3. UV is best used in the last 2 weeks of bud, just as a way to enrich them trics, some like to put their plants in dark for 4 days others (me) like to bath them in uv, just avoid your eyes

  4. I just got the 2 additional eye hortilux power veg t5s 4 days ago, I walked into my veg room today and the tallest plant's leaf tips were burnt. I raised the light, and will let you guys know what happens.

  5. it is what it is, more intense spectrum, more distance.

  6. UVB in balance with UVA and UVC will work well for plants at any stage. You know they have been evolving under sun light for tens of thousands of years, but if you have a spare ten thousand years you could probably get your plants to express their full genetic potential on red wave lengths only.

  7. Interesting...
