Do you see this beautiful dichotomy that this thread evolved into. You inquire about meaning of life as an intellectual pursuit, talking about objective general things. And some are talking about meaning of life as a fullfilment. Life, human or non-human, has a meaning if it's fulfiled and has no meaning if it's not fulfilled. Now here's the thing with this intellectual approach. It's not about you simply being interested whether some fact exists or not. Like I see a man and I may be interested about his history, was he an orphan, how his childhood was, who were his parents etc etc. It's about you looking for some knowledge of facts that will have the most profound effect on your psychological wellbeing. You want to figure it all out. If for example you will come to know that a powerfull being has created our universe a very long time ago then it may do the trick for you but only unless your mind is like 'so what?' 'Yes he created it but it still doesn't resolve the general mystery'. Like you knowing the fact that your parents created you doesn't resolve anything. So you will still look for a final answer. But this final answer can never truly be about you knowing some facts, it can never be a thought. A man living 100 000 years ago may have been more familiar with the answer then a modern man is. Knowldege has evolved a great deal since then but knowldege is only a part of existence and not the most important part either. Only if you get into profound connection with LIFE which is with YOURSELF, only then you can get a true answer. And it may not be the one that is easy to digest. That's what spiritual path is about whether you go by yourself or seek spiritual guidance. Given that in this world there's so much desire to be a guru not corresponding to actual ability to be one, it's better to rely on yourself exclusively and in the end that's how it's going to be anyway even with the best guru.
The meaning of life is love. The key to life is love. Love is everything. When you can see the world for not what it appears to be but what it really is, accept all it's fucked upness, and let go of everything except love you will have achieved true greatness. *Puff puff pass*
Its good to see that people think the meaning of life is what ever they make of it. Why would you believe anyone if they told you what it was? Instead of arguing itd be better to let everyone develop their own meaning, which is what creates such diversity to this day. But at the end we still wear the same material within and without our skin.
Meaning is a concept of the human mind. Life and the universe, God, whatever you wanna call it, is way beyond our silly brains

This is just an existential argument. If we don't matter then we have the great ability to declare what matters. Sense it's all meaningless we are given the power of making meaning out of anything. Maybe that's why all we care about is money and sex..
