What are the benefits?

  1. I'm doing an outdoor grow in pots on a porch, what are the benefits of Lst outdoors?

  2. i'm far from an expert, but have been reading up on LST tonight cuz i'm planning on doing it, although i'm indoors. i think the benefits, indoor or out, are more colas, bigger yeilds. the colas are spread out evenly and use only the main stem so i think they get nutes evenly. this is what i get from LST

  3. You're thinking of topping dude, op if you can find "headchef" im sure he'll give you all the info you need on LST. My knoledge is limited on it but from what i know it keeps your plant from getting to tall in small grow space, it also gives you more of a even canopy.

  4. No I know what FiM and topping is. From the pics I've seen they spread the nodes out to make 4,8,12, etc colas. Lst does make an even canopy and seems easier to deal with than the Xmas tree. But that my opinion

  5. You only have one cola on a plant you get more when you top it, I'm sure the other large buds were called side branching.

  6. see. Still a noob. I thought a cola meant a stem. That's what someone told me when I asked. I thought lst made the plant be more "in the light" making it grow more stems or colas without FiM or topping. Learn something new every day

  7. No sorry dude I think you are right, you can get more the one cola on a plant by lst I'm not sure how though as I thought you had to pinch the plant at a certain point making it grow in two separate directions and lst is only tying it down. I'm a noob to only had 3 grows, Looks like I've got some reading to do!

  8. ha. yeah. i spent most of the night reading on lst. seems its the way to go for small space. i'm doing it for my next grow (3x3x6) lst is i main cola that is branched off then branched off again. all branches should be the same space and height. of course i've seen some other tricky looking grows, but yes lst essentially ties it down. the pinching your talking about is FiM'ing or fuck i missed. for new growth you cut about 80 percent off and it "should" make 4 new colas, which can be topped again depending on the space. but the "pinch" for 2 colas is actually topping, you cut the new growth completely off as opposed to fim and the 80 percent. i'm a first time grower and i have FiM'd 4 times already and they have responded amazingly. got bushy as fuck. they say topping hurts it and slows growth and FiM, well the plant kinda doesnt notice anything, at least mine seemed to love it.

  9. More defined colas without topping the plant. The plants grow more vigorous being stressed. I like it when the bottom branches get even and surpass the top and the colas become defined. My sativa got out of hand, the bottom branches took off completely with another 5-6 weeks to go.
