  1. Hello all, i've been reading a lot and lurking around, and thought that i want to try it myself. so here are some pictures of my setup, i hope you like it. if you have any questions, please ask. and please excuse the potatocam. i can do some close up pictures if something interrests you. I'll also be gratefull for any feedback and tipps for improvement.

Its not really stealthy anymore, but its stealthy enough for my needs.

on this picture you can see the seedlings, the intake fan on the bottom, and the circulation fans on the top. the leds on the back are not currently in use, because of heat issues.

the grow light i got from amazon, sits on top of the case where i've cut in a window. it is sealed with glass, and has its own fan, so it does as low heat as possible to the growth.

I'm currently running the light at 50% and the interior is 25C and 55% RH, while the outside is 24.2C
if it turn it up to 100% i have about 27C, and with the back leds as well, im geting around 29C.
So I think ill leave it at 50% for now.

potatocam picture of my plant.  she looks really stressed out, probably from intense light or heat, or too much water maybe. i hope she recovers. i had the light running at 100% yesterday :(

  3. How much did the led lights costs from Amazon?

  4. 109€ including shipping.

  5. Not American dollars right?

  6.
There is not a big difference at the moment, 109EUR = 119$

Update: though i tried to water as sparingly as possible, still root rot set in... possible cause, too big pots. the drainage seemed good, and i waited until the pot was light and it felt dry 3cm down..  i dont know.. maybe biobiz light mix sucks.

Trying to save it, now doing it "by the book". (well, one of them anyways..)
I washed what was left of the root, and replanted in small paper cups, with lots of holes everywhere, and (sterile, washed and metered) coco.
mixed hesi nutritients (i bought the starter pack) including root complex, enzymes, TNT, and a drop of vitamins, at quarter strength recommended, metered it in to 5.8 pH and using that very sparingly.

For the small scale im growing i can easily afford brand nutritions, and it seems much easier than to mix my own soil and cook "tea".

do you think there is a funghi/bacteria mix i should add? or is that more a placebo?

Whats the size of your pots? They don't look too big. Did you use 100% the biobizz light mix, or mixed it with something else?
You can try to give them some water from the bottom, the soil will suck it up. This way you also stimulate the roots to grow downwards when they try to find water.

  9. Subbed. I'm planning an led grow and I'm definitely wanting to follow yours.

Is pH of 5.8 a little low? I thought 6.6 was preferable. Total newb here so I may be totally wrong.

  10. Also not sure if too big of pots would be an issue. Consider how these grow in nature. My hunch is to crank up the light and get it close to your little ones. Maybe 16 inches but I think someone else needs to check my numbers.

Yes, i was using biobiz light without mixing it with anything. and the pots were 20x20x10.

the pH of 5.8 is because pure coco is woking hydroponic.if you have soil, or partly soil, you are right with something above 6.

I think i'm seing recovery already. those are tough little bastards. the biggest one with the yellowing leaves started growing a new pair in lush green. the next smaller one which has not yellowed yet, but stopped growing is now slowly resuming. only the little runt seems to just not change at all. maybe its still busy doing root stuff, but this one sprouted late and still has intact round leaves. so theres hope for all of them.

here are some pictures with the current state of the plants. white balance is off due to the LEDs

  13. The use of clear plastic tubs is not advisable, although this is not what's causing your drama at this early stage, too me it looks like they are overwatered. Once the root system fills too the outside of the tub you may well have other issues related to them being exposed to the light.

  14. Thanks jimmy, i already changed to something opaque (along with the coco)

  15. Good move, your set up certainly shows you have true passion for growing, sometimes when you're super keen the tendancy to "fuss" over your girls is just too much, and you end up killing them with kindness, I have found over time that at the right time during a grow a little stress at the right time can actually kick in a plants natural "it's time to put all energy into procreation" and helps, but in all honesty seedlings, just keep things basic and let them do there thing, it's always easier to add a little water than deal with a drowning plant... The Coco will fix your over watering issue, make sure you use a decent brand of Coco to avoid the products that have a high salt content.. Good luck 420 peace bro..

edit: is it normal that my runoff (from pure coco) is 6.3? i water with 5.8

  18. It's my understanding that pH will naturally creepy up as nutes are consumed.

new picture, the healthier of the two looks quite happy now. (2)

also, i seem to have figured out how to do more decent pictures. no more potato cam.

I decided to do the "do or die" aprroach now. after all, i can restart if it does not work.
no more food/water until 99% dry. Full light, temp up to 27C, humidity down to 40%, Fan on maximum. grow better roots or die.
