Hempy Buckets Plz Help sick plants

  1. Hello everyone. So I am doing my first hempy buckets ever. I have them in 2.5 gallon pots, 3.5 gallon pots, and 5 gallon pots. Some of my leaves are starting to yellow on the bottom of the plant.

I have chunky perlite filled in bottom of bucket passed the first two inches where I have my drainage hole. Then the rest of the mix is perlite and coco. I planted them about 5-6 days ago.

I watered 1/4th strength with sensi a and b. voodoo juice, hygrozyme, and b-52. I was told by a friend to water extra the first tome so I watered them more than I probably should have the first time.

Other than the yellow leaves my main issue is that the coco has not dried out much after 5-6 days. I am not sure what to do because I figure they need to be fed again. I planned on foliar feeding with b-52 today to give them something. But didn't know if i should wait to dry out more because they are pretty damn moist still.

When I tip the bucket to the side water comes out of the reservoir, so should i tip them over and let all of the water drain out? or will that not do anything. Or should i let them dry out for a few more days

Any advice would be helpful. I am a newbie so learning as I go. I will include some photos as well. Thanks dudes.

  3. How far is it between the bottom res and the roots when you transplanted? She won't be taking up anything from your res until the roots have grown down into it.

  4. Looks over watered with Ph imbalance, hempy buckets are not a very good design and are just wanna be hydro systems. There's nothing adding oxygen to the water in the res so it gets stagnant and when the Ph starts to drift and nute lockout happens the PPMs can get way to high and burn the roots. Pour out as much water as you can, and test the Ph. You want it to be in the 5.8-6.3 range but the coco will act as a sort of buffer so if the water in your res is 7.5 then so would be the medium, so to lower you would add water in the 5.2 range and re test the runoff. After your Ph problems are fixed let that soil dry out until the plant just barely starts to droop and only water until you can just here water swishing in the bottom of your bucket from now on.

  5. Ok thanks man

Ok thanks man. But it seems like many people on here have great success with hempy buckets. So I understand what your saying, but the results speak for themselves. They actually look a little better today. i am going to let them dry out for a few days and see what happens. If they dont get better I will go with your advice and pour out water and see what happens.

Thanks for the help and input.

Anyone else's input who has experience with hemoy buckets would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  6. I also plan on spraying down with b-52 tonight in a foliar spray. Figure that would help it a bit. Would you guys recommend foliar spraying  plants for 3-4 days until the coco drys out. Like foliar spraying with my sensi a and b, hygrozyme, voodoo, and b-52? Just so they can get some kind of food?

  7. Its pretty far since they were just transplanted. I understand what your saying though. Makes perfect sense. So should I pour out everything in the res? or should I just wait it out until soil drys out a bit. Because when I water next time it should replace the water that is currently sitting in the res. Or do you guys suggest just emptying the res now?
