Did i mess up my brain?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Artiluca, May 27, 2015.

  1. I know this question has been posted multiple times on here but after searching for hours all I could find were biased studies that couldn't be trusted. My first time smoking weed was on my 16th birthday. I didn't get high but when I tried again a month later I definitely felt the effects. From then on I smoked usually 1-2 a month which then turned to every weekend. The last month of my junior year i smoked every day until I stopped completely for 2 months when I went to Italy with my family for the summer. I then smoked 3 times a week (.2-.3 bowls) my entire senior year and later after graduating I decreased my usage to about a 1-2 a month. I am currently 19 and next year I will start college in Italy. I don't smoke as much as I used to but I would like to know if my usage now and in my past teenage years will affect me in any negative ways as the brain isn't done developing until 25 i think.
    Any advice is appreciated
    Ci vediamo.

MJ doesn't help to sharpen the pencil and make you smarter or help you to memorize information for tests. It won't help you to learn, it affects short term and long term memory some with acute conditions and some chronic c0onditions that may be long term. If you want to use your brain for a living you will need to stay off the daily weed use. It's ok now and then but people that have to drink or smoke every day are addicts. Have you had anxiety or paranoia from smoking weed? If you haven't had any negative side effects like anxiety or paranoia that is good. But if you have experienced anxiety or paranoia induced from MJ that may resurface say when you have to give an oral presentation before your class. You may suffer anxiety attacks now. If you have any problems just stay off the MJ for starters.

  3. No it won't mess you up its not meth for gods sake...

  4. Its people like u that is the reason why cannibas may never be legal blaming it on metal issues

  5. Yea. The metal will fuck ya, not the weed.

He's asking if it will have long term effects because of his past use and that his brain is not fully developed yet due to his age. You can certainly blame weed if its making you paranoid and thats probably when its best to stop as it only gets worse and not better.

to OP if there was any damage its already been done and you made those choices yourself so now you just gotta live with it. I think because your only 19 and started at 16 there probably wont be any real damaging effects if there were you would already know that yourself which makes this thread kinda pointless

  7. You started at the "cut off point" for problems judging from the studies I've read (and I read a LOT of medical studies!). The younger you are when you start (under 16, especially) the RISK of problems gets bigger. This is NOT to say you will have problems, only that the risk is increased. Most folks who start early turn out to be perfectly normal human beings.

So stop fretting and get on with your life!   Hon, I have used cannabis for 48 years (I'm 67). And I still read medical studies while stoned, and yes, I understand what they mean. You can LET cannabis affect you negatively, or you can use the positive aspects to enhance your personality and creativity like Carl Sagan did!

“The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world.”  â€• Carl Sagan

And since you are going back to school, do you dream of doing a paper on cannabis that will blow the prof's mind? [IMG]   I have all the research collected and even put in order for you!  Just PM me your email, or check out the bottom of my sig for mine. I'll send you back over 2,000 pages of links on just about everything related to cannabis, the cannabinoids and the endocannabinoid system.

  8. I started smoking at the age of 13 with a group of friends and you can definitely tell something is "off" about people who started using weed in large quantities at an early age. I was the one in the group who barely smoked. Maybe 1 hit a month on special days. I talk to them now at the age of 30, and I can definitely say my friends who have been heavy users can't carry a conversation. They either go off topic, or fall down a rabbit hole and get way too deep about certain subjects. How much of that is from weed? Who knows, but from my group of pothead friends, I was the only one to make it out to hold a steady career.

I love cannabis as much as the next guy here, but I'm very against people smoking before being fully developed.

  9.
You did no harm but to be clean in college will be smart. Cut loose on the weekends once in a while but otherwise stay strait and get good grades.

  10. OP. You're a goner. Sorry dude.

  11. Sometimes you just gotta go down that rabbit hole.

  12. Bad news.. you have the cancer. Within the next 2-3 days you will randomly drop dead. Just hope it's not while you're on the shitter. Don't do marijuanas, kids.
