Your idea of 2x 1k lights would be simpler to set up and maintain. Less plants too so if you preferred soil it wouldn't so much of a pain to water.

yeah and I appreciate all the help. I really want to make this my hobbie. I always wanted to grow now that I can I'm going all out on a budget haha if that makes sense.

This is the layout I have for the pots. Is that good spacing? Each circle is 12in (5 gal bucket).
