The true definition of an Aeroponics is you have to use something similar to what a Fog machine does........without that you are just making water droplets. You have to actually atomize the water vapor in order to do a True Aeroponics grow. You need way more then just 1 CFL, and how many plants are we talking about?

  3. See my DIY Mini-Me F & D in hydro section

CFLs have been replaced with LED spot lights, available at Lowes/HD. They are more efficient and provide more and better lumens

  4.
Aeroponics when done correctly really maximising the available oxygen and supercharges growth when all other factors are met. If you are going to be using low intensity lights like CFLs I don't see the extra work aeroponics require to be worth it. I'd recommend something more simple like DWC if you are going to use CFLs.

Either way you are going to need a lot more watts than 14 to grow even the smallest of plants. You need a bare minimum of 50w per square foot of area just to get healthy growth

  5. well since iv last posted iv been lookin up leds an others for know i just bring them out early at dawn and at nigt they stay on the cfls an therapy light idk how many watts it is but its bright as hell i have one plant ive put in an automatic watering 5 gal bucket with my own mixture of soil an rooting powder seems to love it , oh and i have rain water from a 50 gal plastic container . in otal i think i have four or five not sure how one is looking these were left over seeds i had from both good and mids so only time will tell.

  7. aight thank you i accidentally may have killed a plant today with a bulb too close

  8. Im also growing in Aeroponics, aeroflo20 to be exact, with 600w hps roughly 85cm away from the plants since they are so young.
2 weeks old now and i see these spots. any idea what this is due to?

  9. Op I would highly recommend going with Gold Growers suggestion and just grabbing a prebuilt dwc bucket. Aeroponics is a bit too costly and involved for a new grower in my opinion. A decent system even diy is going to cost a chunk of money. Most cheap or diy system you see out there arent aeroponics, they are just dwc with spayers.

  10. the first photo looks like splash damage. Have you sprayed the leaves? Or wet them somehow?

The second photo could also be splash damage, but isn't a typical case. Do you have that fine speckling on any other leaves?

    Thanks for the reply GoldGrower.
Yeah i was spraying them with a Formulex nutriant solution 10 Mins before lights out. Its suposed to be good for young plants.
And yeah i have it quite faintly on half the plants. But this was the worst case.
So you recon i should just not spray them at all?
This them, 2 weeks old tomorow

    ............

the only time I would recommend spraying is when you are using pesticides. And even then, only as a last resort. I don't fully understand the science behind it, but wetting the leaves does damage them. Not always, but it happens.

What are you trying to achieve by spraying them anyway? Especially with nutrients. Nutes go in the other end lol. It's best to just give the correct dosage to the roots.

Some people say that water droplets cause a magnification effect from the lights, others say when the fans evaporate the water you get an evaporative cooling effect, but I currently believe it's more likely that as it dries, the remaining liquid becomes more and more concentrated and draws moisture from the leaf via osmosis. I think all the environmental factors have to be exact, but it's very common

  13. Hey, thanks for the tips. Everything worked out fine in the end.
You seem to know what your talking about, could you have look at this. Its only appearing on the lower leaves so far. 2-3 weeks old again.
