Confirming GL80 tents.

  1. I recommend getting at least a 4'x4' tent if you're looking to grow 4 plants or less. Or a 2'x4' tent if you're looking to grow 2 plants or less.

How many watts is the LED?

  2. Fail!

My apologies for not responding to this sooner, I don't know why it did not notify me. Be that as it may, I am currently on the fence between the xml350

    http://advancedledlights.com/3w-led-grow-lights/new-diamond-series-xml-10w-cree-xml/

    And the xte300 series:

I am leaning towards the XML series as I understand it will out yield the xte by 10% and moreover, the XML series is square not rectangle. I am mostly certain that I am ready to purchase 2) gl80s

However, I am concerned that it is not an actual 3'x3'. I have recently spotted this:

I hope this isn't too much thought into all of this. I would like to keep things smaller in scale, I just think that the ACTUAL dimensions of the gl80 might be a little too small when considering all that has to be in the tent. I am not wanting to do soil, I am going to swing for the fences and do a DWC, I was hoping to do a scrog setup with 3 or 4 plants. One last bit of concern regarding the tent size is this, I have been looking for a turnkey setup similar to this:

    http://www.hidhut.com/economy-bucket-dwc-deep-water-culture-hydroponics-systems-p-2667.html

...and if you notice it says designed for a 3x3, would I be shorting myself here with a gl80? I'd appreciate anyone's and everyone's thoughts regarding my plan of attack here. Nothing is set in stone, but I will be doing LED and I am NOT wanting to do soil.

Thanks in advance to all who help with my design setup as I have few more weeks before I can begin making purchases.

  3. Why not get the XML350 (if it can really keep up with a 600-1000w HPS) and 4x4 tent for four plants? There a reason you want two smaller tents?

  4. Thanks for the fast response. The reason on 3x3 is space. I am doing setup in a gambrel (hip roof) and with 2 tents (perpetual) one veg one flower, I can manage 2) 3x3s. If I were to move to 4x4 the tops of the tents would then hit. I would have to sacrifice height which I really did not want to do.

    Hope that clears all.

  5. Just to make sure, 4 plants per 3x3? Might be a tight fit, but that should work. Topping once and scroging should help manage the canopy.

  6. OK, Thanks for the input. Doesn't have to be 4 can be 3. I think I'd like to aim for 3 oz/month.

  7. 4 would fit. Loki has yielded ~11ozs from 4 autoflowers in his 3x3

  8. I also did 4 photoperiod in my 3x3. Only yielded 8oz but still.
Okay..so there was 5. I forgot I got 8.5 but the small one is only a 2gal. Others are 5gal
