Hello all! I have finally made it to a legal state and have begun cultivation! Running some BS seeds presently to test environment and such. Im on day 15. Running 400w MH Cant wait till these get going. Maybe ill get lucky and have some girls! More photos soon. Been taking them daily to keeo track of growth!
In the near future i am going to be building out the closet a bit for a more "professional" appearance. We just moved in and i had the itch again. Haha. Heres as of a few mins ago. Stay tuned. Switching to 12/12 in 15 days.
Thanks! I am doing my best this time to keep from overwatering them. For my soil i decided a nice 1.5" layer of pea gravel at the bottom of each pot would help with drainage and later on with cleanup. So far so good. Waiting an hour for the sun to come on in the closet and wake the girls up haha
Just dropped one more seed in a 3rd pot. We will see what it does. Figure i have the light. May as well use it. Also have some sensitive plants (mimosa pudica) and some other mimosa variant from Diamond head on ohau in hawaii
Well they are still carrying on well. Noticed on the sativa dominant that the newer fans are canoeing over night. I am switching my fan onto the timer circuit so they dont get cold and dry over night. Not very humid here in my part of CO so i think when its lights out definitely too chilly with the fan and needs more moisture. Waiting on my humidity meter...
Theyre a happy bunch still. Canoeing seems to have mostly subsided. We will see how it is when lights are out and fan off tonight.
Midday check up... Still happy campers! Letting them dry down a bit before they get a solid flush. 1 more week and we will start the 12/12 cycle for a short plant and hopefully start flowering early on. Waiting for the 3rd pot to sprout life so i can play with my LST skills
Just thought i'd take a moment to make a note. I am running a 400w Apollo Horticulture unit. -The ballast is dimmable 100/75/50 % -came with a MH and HPS bulb (400w) - adjustable hangers -lightwieght -lots of power cord I have the MH bulb in at present, its rated 36000 lumens. I will be switching to the HPS bulb in a bit over a week. I am EXTREMELY pleased with the fact that it was UNDER $100 to my doorstep. It functions 100%, was well packaged, doesnt produce obscene heat and definitely makes enough light! This is like the sun compared to my old Cfls. I have about 325 hours on it so far. Will keep updating if it gives any issue or perhaps continues happily along. MrB_
So today is day 19 for the green dot plant and day 16 for the right plant. They are doing well. Waiting one more day for soil to dry before a heavy flush. I suspect the soil i used is a bit nitrogen rich. It is a potting soil for plants - not exactly ideal for this use. So hoping the flush will clear some of the extra nitrogen out and allow me to start safely supplementing in its flowering nutrients as we prepare to flip the switch to 12/12 in another week and a half.
Day 19 pictures. Notice the curled tips. These plants are not over watered. However the potting soil seems to have a high nitrogen content. Really hopping this wont persist thru their entire lifespan. Flush flush flush.
Update: waited till today to water and decided to flush the plants to see how much stuff is in the water.... OVER 2000PPM from the first half gallon of runoff. After about a gallon we got down to runoff at 1500ppm I ran some more water thru until the drained water was at or below 750ppm The pH was 6.56 coming out - not toooo bad. I really didnt notice how overly green they were until i took them to natural light. So here are some pics after the heavy flush and watering. They were about as droopy before - but i soaked em good to clear that potting soil over nutrient bullshit out. We will see what tomorrow brings my darling plants.
After the flush we are starting to lighten up a but and the curl isnt as pronounced. Theyve shot up since the flush too, i think that might indicate that it was dealing with nutrient toxicity. Not seeing so much for the deformed leaves either. I have also started / continued to train them down to get some healthy shrubs
Hello everyone! Today is a sunday funday update. I finally got my computer and such set up so I can upload the pictures on my camera from the day they sprouted till now. photodump begin
So today i did some training on the nodes that are starting. The leaves seem lighter on the new growth so hopefully my flush was effective.
Should have a photo update later today. Also have some clones coming so itll be time to outfit my shed this weekend
