Melkors 2 stage CFL 200 watt/180 l.e.d- 400 hps garden journal

Okay folks some of y'all know me, some don't..

I've been a member of this forum since I was in high school..been down a lot of roads til I found a home..a beautiful wife and son..great brothers..great club..
I use cannabis medically and recreationally.. I wrecked my bike a few years ago..ended up with stage one casaulgia a nasty nerve damage disorder..

Anyway stats.. I have a beg chamber 2,2,3 but can be made into a smaller seedling chamber to keep them close to lights in their young life..

4 24 watt cfl and a 180 watt Mars hydro LED a 190 cfm exhaust and a 3 inch fan for air..temps stay around 84 to 79 light on 72 to 75 lights off..I can raise humidity with humidifier if needed..

My plan is to start germinated seeds in solo cups close to lights for about 2 to 3 weeks til I feel they are ready to go into the 400 watt HPs tent to really start growing..once that happens I will plant 2 autos in 3 gallon grow bags..

So my flower tent is 22x36x64 with a 400 watt hps with an open reflector..the tent is nice and reflective.. 4 inch inline fan with carbon filter on the front end of the fan..ducting sends the hot air into the wall..it runs a few inches so it doesn't lose much force.. Temps still stay in the 80 to 85 range with the tent completely closed..if I open it and use a box fan to help pull out more air to bring it to the high 70s..which is the good flower temp..so I'm worried about my normal photo girls in flower getting too hot.. Autos is fine cuz I don't have to worry about light leaks as much..and I do not want to Hermie my plants from light leaks

So my current solution to that is to make sure my 12|12 goes on and off at a time I can seal up the tent during the dark and open it during the light time..FYI tent is in my bedroom which has central heat and air so room stays low 70s

So currently I have 2 auto biodiesel mass from advanced seeds in my tent..about week 5 in flower and they are putting on more weight despite nute lockout and pH in balance I selected poor soil and didn't amend properly..

I bought some roots organics soil as well as canna Terra professional plus..happy frog fertilizer and earthworm castings..
Both of those soils have been charged with lime and have proper PV..so will add light amount of happy frog to the canna..and ewc to both..they have perilte already and have great areation and drainage..

I put 4 seeds in wet paper method yesterday at 11 am..
1 jack herer greenhouse seeds
1 ladyburn 1974 greenhouse seeds..beginner strain high THC
1 special kush number 1..royal seeds..another beginner freebie
1 painkiller xl from royal seeds..good med strain for mom in law for her lymphoma..plan on making canna capsules for her from this strain.
Plan on making hash from all my trim doing qwiso and rosin from kief
I also have some damnesia autos for my auto grow..

Will post pics once I have taproots popping and pop them in soil..
Pics included are current biodiesel autos..

Anyway subscribe experts.. I will need guidance and I will accept respectful instruction from anyone willing to help out a newer indoor grower who is tired of paying for meds in my state..I have access to plently of good bud..but not quality strains with applicable medical needs..

 

  
These are autos..and I read in many places that topping autos is bad because of their pre determined life span..no chance to recover from the stress

Checked my buds under my pocket scope its 30x I believe..the resin is looking great..heads are clear and cloudy..although I struggle sometimes determining if their clear or cloudy..once I see amber I know I'm ready..I fed one last time today..next water will be flush ..I have 2 weeks on the lifespan..just hoping they fatten up a bit..and the triochromes on the many many hairs mature

Onto my seeds..the special kush and the jack herer have popped the seed..going to get my soil all mixed and ready so I can put them into solos..I've put drain holes on them..im debating on using roots organics or canna Terra as the initial starter soil..the canna doesn't have as many amendments..but I plan on transplanting and finishing them in roots organics..so should I just stick with roots? Or is it okay to mix two diff mixes? BTW roots is a coco / peat base and canna is a peat moss soilles mix..

Yeah I've read several people say not to top the autos..I tried light LST on the biodiesel enough to be confident to try again..garden twist ties work great..I might just try topping my stativa dominate girls so I don't fuck up all of the plants..I find the whole science behind node manipulation like that..my tent isn't all that tall.. And I have an open reflected hood with my 400 hps so i try to keep it 18 inches from plant..I'm nervous to bring it any closer..

All 4 seeds are in the dirt.pretty white taproots..

I have a good feeling Bout this GRow..with the soil lights and new ventilation.. With these four plants..I'm trying to ho for around a pound of total weight.. I don't think I'll get that exactly..a QP a plant seems to be a strench for a 400 watt light.. Using 3 gal grow bags for final pot..do I need to chance my expectations? I want to have reasonable expectations so I'm not disappointed if I come up short

Ready to see the others.. Ready to harvest my autos as well..I'm out of smoke and my area is dry for a bit..

I made my first batch of qwiso hash..used 5 grams of premium bud and about 4 grams of vaped weed.. Didn't get much..don't think I did it just right..I got about 4 or 5 great hits.. Then my butane lighter went out lol

Anyway..one autos pistils are curling back in..some are beginning to change colors so I hope I don't have much longer.. The buds aren't getting any bigger so I'm thinking I'll get a zone or a bit more..

I decided I should go ahead and germ my autos..get them going so I have bud this summer once I'm out of biodiesel..going to make hash out of the sugar leaf..

So I'm going to have two damnesia autos going as well.. Better soil and lights I am betting I'll have a better yield his time lol

 

Just checked on the seedlings.. 2 more popped up..the only one I'm waiting on is the painkiller xl..

I hope everyone enjoyed their memorial day..it was a lot of fun..didn't get too wild because of our newborn..but he enjoyed the music and doesn't seem to mind motorcycle engines..my charter threw a big BBQ for united way..was interesting to see the pastors from the different churches take pictures with our prez..this big 6 foot 7 300 lb sweaty tatted guy..lmao
My wife makes great potato salad..saw these boys eat nothing else..was hilarious..

Anyway..on to the grow..
All seedlings are up and looking great..also one of the flowering autos is starting to ripen..the other is still packing on bud weight..


It's day 55 on them..seedfinder review s average harvest day around 60 67 days..
Hope to get enough bud and hash to last me through my next grow..even if I start some autos now.. I don't know if they would be ready in time ..I still plan on germing some of my damnesia once I transplant my girls to their final 3 gallon grow bags..I might do a couple in 5 gallon bags but I don't have enough roots organics to fill 4 5 gallon.. Only got 2 bags..if I do that I put the bigger plants like the ladyburn and the jack herer..they get a lot bigger than the other ones according to the breeders..

Anyway..any suggestions on my dilemma would be helpful..I just never wanna buy weed again..until I get to Colorado then I want good concentrates..

So..lights just came on and the girls are looking great..the royal queen girls are looking better than the greenhouse ones..but they popped out of the ground first..after a week or two.. If the girls are looking good I will transplant them to their final container..I don't want to transplant a bunch and 3 and 5 gallon isn't that big..

The biodiesel girls are looking great..one is getting real ripe..the other is going slow but also getting fatter.
Only a few pistils have receded and browned out..I cut one top off to dry and test..I checked under the scope and the majority is cloudy heads..but every pic I see shows how its mostly red and orange hairs..so do I need to wait on the pistils? Cuz the trixromes are good..I don't want too many amber ones
So which should I go by? I wish I could take a picure of what I see at 30x
My trim job is excellent! I def could get a job trimming lol..I'll post my trim for a resume lol

 

Well..day 5 since popping and the four girls are looking great..the jack herer is lagging behind the others but she was the last to pop so technically the JH is 4 days old..

I harvested the runt of my biodiesel.. I haven't put it to scale since its on day 2 of drying in my net..the other girl I'm letting go a while longer..she was healthier and had denser buds..this one is airy and you can tell it spent a lot of time under cfl and had nute lockout

Anyway it'll smoke great its covered in resin so I can always make hash lol

So today makes the first week since the girls emerged from the soil..3 of them are doing great..the jack herer is lagging behind big time..worried its stunted..which means I need to germinate 3 autos instead of 2 yo make enuf buds to cover my costs and all that..

But it was slow to pop out and had the seed mess with one of the colyedons.. So I guess she is OK..

Anyway I need some responses and let me know how I'm looking

 

Also..my first harvest dried and put in jars to cure..weighed 15 grams..it was the smaller sicker auto so the other one will be double if not more in terms of yield..hopefully I'll have enuf until my next harvest..

So how long until I should move the girls under the 400 watt HP's? I have the light 3 feet away..should keep the girls from burning..is this a good height? How big should I let them get until I transplant to 3 gallon bags?
I really want to free up the box for autos..although I guess I could put hem in the tent and when it is time to switch to 12 12 I'll put my other led in there..then I would have 360 watts led and 280 watt cfl if I use all my lights...that should provide plently of lumens for a great auto harvest..I want them down in about 70 days..most reviews I've seen show 65 to 75 days from germination for a good harvest

Today is day 10..it also is transplant day..I took the girls from solos to 3 gal bags..the roots looked great.. Nice and white..coating the bottom of the cup so they were ready..I left the jack herer in the cup..because its looking terrible..not growing at all..night pull it if it doesn't improve soon ..I'll plant another strain in its place..going to germinate my autos and plant them in my led cfl box..they will be done in late august..just in time lol..I imagine my current plants will be around early September.. Going to switch to flower lighting on July 1st..so gives me 3 good weeks of veg growth..or if they get around 18 to 20 inches..I have about 4 feet of space so I dony want them too tall..I plan on LST and topping once or twice.. So hopefully the girls recover from the transplant soon and start popping for me

The buds drying is my biodiesel..been drying for 2 a d a half days..going slow since my humidity is around 40..hoping to be done soon so I can cure it and smoke it

 

Thanks..I had heard great things about this strain..so I ews surprised it is lagging behind so bad..and that purple coming in on it..haven't seen that when I looked..maybe it was just that seed..I have 2 more..
But hey..if 3 out of 4 turn out great..that's still good averages..
Are my expectations as far as time in veg reasonable? I figured 3 gallons would supply a 3 to 4 foot flowering plant..the place I got my supplies said my light would support 6 3 to 4 foot plants reasonably..

Yes the biodiesel I've tried is amazing smoke..it relieves pain but is also very cerebral and clear..made my wife giggle like crazy..which I enjoyed ..it was good to see her laughing like that..I'm thinking I'll be getting around an ounce and a half dried but I'm ready to get it curing so I can get a sense of true taste and smell..its grassy but slightly diesel pungence
