Slow progressive growth on clones?

  1. Hi grasscity! This is my second post here, Cheers! Here is my diliema today. I have had these clones for about 2 and a half weeks, and the growth is there, but progressively slow. They are Granddaddy(right) and phantom OG(left). I use Dyna Grow foliage pro once a week as my nutes. They are in a California mix of bat guano, perlite, peat moss, redwood sawdust, earthworm castings, and mushroom compost. They are great genetics, from KING KLONES up here in northern California. I will post some pictures of them, the first day i got them and today. Thanks for the info guys! Also, i water them every other day or so. I usualy water them till i see about 20% runoff.  I usually do not water until the top layer is pretty dry. This is also my first year at growing! Have lady bugs and spray them every 4-5 days with neem oil. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and i appreciate all input! - Growth

P.S. I have been topping them as well!!!! Or pinching, but still topping :)

  2. What do you mean youve been topping them, did you top them more than once..

  3. I topped them both once. Not the super crazy topping that people do when they completely cut off a node.. I simply pinched the new top where the new growth was at the very top of the plant!

Next mix skip the saw dust and exchange the mushroom compost for anything else.. The central main top is the brain of the plant and you've lobotomized your plant.. It's outside and doesn't need any topping till it's taller then the fence.. Every pinch or top slows it a week or more..
Water between an 8 and a 2.. By that I mean left the pot. Pick it up .. what does it weigh ?? Fill a same sized pot with the same mix and let it get stone dry.. That is a 0.. Just watered is a 10.. You need to let the plant dry out more between watering it sounds like.. Water less often and less amount.. 20% run off each watering is to much.. Just a trickle from the vent ports is enough with most mixes.. Your hand and arm will tell you it needs more water.. Actually let a plant dry to the point of wilting.. It won't hurt it but you'll be amazed just how light that is.. The plant will snap back so fast you can watch it happen..
While neem is fine in veg it shouldn't be used in flower so start looking for BT caterpillar killer and Green Cure for Powdery Mildew.. Apply both weekly and you'll have a nice clean outside crop..

Green cure is likely found at your local hydro store.. Powdery Mildew
BT Bacillus thuringiensis same or home depot or lowes carries it now.. Bud worms AKA caterpillars.. I run a bug zapper as well
Mosquito Dunks for controlling Fungal Gnats.. Crush them up and put a pinch on each plant..
Neem is fine for mites, thrips and a few more but once flowering starts you'll need to change if your still having issues..
Spinosad is the current best bet against mites and the like later in flower.. Can be found as captain jacks dead bug brew or Monterey with spin.. Again your hydro shop likely has all 3 but at a bit of an inflated price.. HTH BNW

  5. Thanks so much for the info Brass!!! It was the only soil i had at the time. As of now, i have foxfarm soil so when i transplant them next they will be in much better soil! I do the 20% runnoff because it was a tip a buddy of mine gave me, because my current nutes might build up to much salt. But i'll water them like you say, and i won't do anything to them until they get much taller! Thanks again for reading my post and taking the time to answer. Kudos!
