Does anyone else besides me have extreme alcohol tolerance? I just killed a sixer of Bud Light Platinum (which is 6% ABV) and I don't feel a god damn thing. That is insane. That is enough alcohol to get any normal human being completely wasted. Not me though apparently. It's been days since I have had anything to drink too, which makes the tolerance all the more glaring. I should be drunk, but I am not. I am about as buzzed as I used to get off one beer on an empty stomach when I was 20 (I am 31 now). Does anyone else have this sort of extreme tolerance? It sucks!
It's because it's budweiser. If I drink a 6 pack of 6% craft beer I'll be pretty drunk but I can drink shitty beer all day and it just makes me have to pee a lot. I don't know exactly why but I recall reading a story budweiser got busted putting less alcohol in the beer then what the label claimed.
It doesn't have to be just Budweiser. If I drink a sixer of something like Miller Fortune which is supposed to be 6.8%, I will feel more or less the same. Even if it was a regular 4.5%, I should still feel something.
Interesting timing of this post. I just wondered something similar over the weekend as my own tolerance has been well established since college. This can have side effects. For one, as you mention, you can pound a lot of brew and not get blitzed, which feels like a waste of $, but is also not good for your body since it still has to process all that alcohol. Not being hammered is not to be confused with not negatively affecting your body. My biggest personal danger is that because of my tolerance it takes >a lot< to get me properly smashed, but when I do finally get there, it's because of far too much liquor, and I still do not black out/crash/hurl or any of those other things that make most people stop moving about and doing things. This...can be very bad because you do not want to be an active ultra drunk. This is how major embarassments are committed. Four Loko is a great example of getting people this way and is something I got to witness in college a lot. http://www.fourlokostories.com/ Also, stop drinking Bud and Miller. They are sooooooooooooo far down on the beer ranking list
For me it was the opposite. When I was 20 I could do multiple shots and not feel a single thing. Nowadays I can feel it after half of a drink. I just chalk this up to decreased usage over time.
I won't drink for a week or 2 and still be able to put a fifth down... So yeah, I am familiar with ridiculous tolerance. Only gets worse when I drink more frequently
Lol drinking 1 6% beer and not feeling a thing isn't really a extreme alcohol tolerance. Extreme alcohol tolerance is people who can drink a 6 pack and safely drive (because their tolerance is so high is does absolutely nothing to them) I almost never drink, and by never I mean I can count the number of times I have been drunk in the past 6 months on 1 hand. That being said, 1 beer does absolutely nothing to me and for reference I'm like 130-140 pounds so I'm fairly scrawny I need at-least 2-3 before I start feeling buzzed, but I get drunk if I have at-least 5
Unfortunately I can't drink hard liquor straight. Shit burns my throat and I throw it up the second it hits my stomach. So it's beer, wine, or mixed drinks only. Plus I love the taste of so many beers. And I love sitting and drinking for a couple hours while I watch tv. It would be a lot better though if I could actually feel something from drinking so much.
If the goal here is to just get you fkd up, all sophistication removed, go get a few Four Lokos. It's horrible chemistry but it >will< blitz you out. I have a well above average tolerance with beer and hard liquor but 3 Four Lokos is a scary concept to me. People....go places in their head on that. The site I linked earlier in this forum is 100% spot on. (www.fourlokostories.com) I witnessed these things in college left and right. It's 8-11% alcohol in a 22oz can. Tastes like a girly winecooler and one won't do anything to you but get you a slight buzz. Two and you're quite drunk. You won't know it, but you fkn are. Three....you better hope you are an otherwise very very calm person, otherwise get ready for energetic drunk behavior with eventual inevitable black out.
Mines meh, I start feeling drunk after maybe the 6th consecutive beer, after the 12 I'm pretty drunk. If i wanna party longer i usually haul out a pint of smirnoff and get through maybe half of it. Thats a extreme once in a blue moon night for me though.
