Strains/herbs for carpal tunnel syndrome

  1. Hey everyone,
I've been recently talking to my folks about growing some bud and other herbs to help with some of my mom's current condition. She underwent glaucoma surgery late last year and was recently diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome.

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with cannabis strains that have a positive impact in either one or both of those conditions. I'd also be very interested in any other herbs/plants that you guys have had good success with.

  2. Hey distrex, if I was you I would get the heaviest indica you can find, and every dispensary is a little diffrent so you should ask the bud tenders thier opinion on which has the best cure and hits the hardest too. Hope this helps.

  3. no ... cannabis will most likely not relieve pain from carpal tunnel syndrome.
but a simple operation to remove the symptoms. an operation will make more room for the median nerve which is pinched by the ligament.

  4. Make a salve for her carpal syndrome! It is likely to help. Just make some very strong canna-oil using your favorite recipe. You don't need to make much- a half cup is plenty!  Warm the canna-oil gently, add a small chunk of bees wax and let it melt into the oil. Let cool. If the resulting salve is too thick, reheat and add a small amount of oil. Too thin? Reheat and add more wax.

I have mild arthritis in my hands and if I use the salve at night, my hands don't hurt in the morning! [IMG] The salve keeps my hands nice and soft, too! [IMG]

Glaucoma is one of the first conditions that cannabis was noted to treat! PM me your email address and I'll send you back a HUGE collection of links to studies on the medical uses of cannabis and the cannabinoids. The section on glaucoma (just the more recent studies- 2010 on) is about 2 pages of titles and links that look like this-

Well, the first time I clicked the link I got some lovely photos of waterfalls.  [IMG]  Went back, tried again and found a question on statins, which I assume is the right post.

Before there were statins, there was NIACIN! That little old "B" vitamin that is used to make your urine yellow when you try dilution to pass a drug test also works to lower cholesterol! [IMG]

    Niacin: Myths and Facts  http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/c/7986/17940/myths-facts

Now here's the "trouble" with niacin- it usually will give you "hot flashes" for a couple of weeks when you first get started. (Taking an aspirin apparently will help with the hot flashes.) And really dudes, "little old ladies" deal with hot flashes, so "big strong men" should be able to handle them for a few weeks! [IMG] lol

Also, statins gave my hubby severe leg cramps, and after a little reading, he switched to niacin.

  7.
    Yup, that's the one.

    I'll let 'Mike know...

    Thanks!

  8. Google

    "Pokesmot247 alternative medicine"

For other herbs that are legal and help in addition to cannabis.

For me, pineapple chunk helps a lot for arthritis and carpel tunnel. Most indica leaning hybrids help.
