Can you leave weed in an extreme q vapouriser while it is on ?

  1. It might seem silly but the bowl and elbow joint isn't as hot when not taking a pull on the whip or with a fan setting on so I was just wondering if that means your okay to leave your weed in the elbow pack for example after only a few hits for like half hour ?

  2. Put fresh bud in there. Leave it for 30-60 minutes. When you check on it if it is no longer green than your bud has been cooking.

  3. Yes, you can do this with all convection vapes.

  4. ya you can especially if you turn the vape off i have done it with mine a few times if the vape is on eventually the bowl heats up to much and starts cooking it but it hasn't really been bad other then when i left it for like 2 hours so just turn on the timer so the vape switches off eventually

  5. Yeah that's not a bad idea but then I could be wasting a whole bowl! I mean you can definitely see vapour coming out when you just leave the whip for 2 minutes but then that could be because it is just still at that temperature for a minute after taking the pull.

My point of this though is because for my extreme q I have always left it for a good 10-15 minutes to warm up before I even put my weed in so if I'm half way through a bowl and want to pause for just half hour this can be annoying suppose I should stop being so lazy and just take the glass bowl and elbow joint of but after a few hits that seems so hard lol

  6. eq is a mix of conduction and convection aka hybrid. So I would assume the material would be somewhat spent in left in too long.

  7. Get a plug for your mouthpiece that will seal it so you don't lose vapour. Check out camelbak bite valves. Cheap and fits perfectly over the mouthpiece.

  8. True, but it's much more convection than conduction. But, like you say the cyclone sitting on the heater will heat the herb too and cause loss...

  9. So basically it's not a good idea then? I do plan on getting a plug or making one for the mouth piece but if it's as you say a hybrid I don't want to lose any herb just sitting there so think better safe than sorry applies here. Cheers

  10. you sure about that ? I was under the impression it was around the same, like all arizer vapes aka solo and air. I've hit one more than once and the taste told me the conduction was pretty close to the convection.

  11. I haven't got figures but I feel it's around 90% convection 10% conduction. You can draw vapor by letting the heater get up to temp placing the bowl on the heater and drawing. Vapor is created straight away, You can use it solely this way as a convection vape. However you can achieve thicker vapor by allowing the cyclone bowl to heat up with the heater and use the conduction produced as well as convection for bigger hits.  From what I've seen with mine, the longer you leave the cyclone bowl on the heater for the more conduction you will be using. Also, the eq bowl is much further away from the heater than the solo, which helps to reduce the conduction produced.

Could the taste you got have been caused by the whip or bag?  I know that mine can get nasty and they are impossible to clean properly...

Hopefully I've made sense here. I've just done two bowls worth on my Lotus and d020-d so may be talking out my arse...lol[IMG]

  12. that's conduction. The vapor that is created immediately is because the herb has been sitting in a chamber that is continuously being heated. This provides that instant vapor.
Another example is the mighty. When heated to the desired temp it immediately gives off vapor.
Usually convection vapes take a few seconds more to really start producing vapor.
Looks like you may be talking out your ass haha ;)
    No worries though.

  13. I never would.  Heat rises, and
with the bowl sitting on top of the
    heating element, you're liable
    to cook your bud.

  14. IMO the EQ is more convection due to the fact that it is more the air that heats the bud.

Elbowpacking for example create the vapor by drawing the air underneath the elbow through the herbs not on the sides of it. 4
Using the cyclone bowl on the other hand could be considered hybrid because the glass is heated by the element it sits on and there is a screen for the herb in the middle of the bowl but it still leans much more to convection because of the hot air rising through and around the bowl.

Elbowpack+ whip = best method for me (big clouds).

fyi the bigger clouds are most likely from conduction.the vapor from conduction is more visible

  16. My understanding is the EQ is a passive convection vape not conduction. Sure the cyclone bowl heats up but isn't that to maintain the air rising from the element? Personally I haven't seen signs of conduction. When elbow packing the grass is pretty much universally vaped at the same rate inside and outside the pack itself judging by the AVB colour.

  17. Passed the fuck out with mine loaded up with keif elbow packs last couple nights in a row, and just stirred the bowl and got a hit or two of good vapor left, so yeah its cool bro.

  18. nah its a hybrid. there is a significant amount of both convection and conduction in play.

  19. Could anyone tell me what the difference is then between conduction and convection, not literally like I know what the words mean but in terms of vaping iv seen mention of taste here but mostly density of vapour how does this vary with conduction and convection are there vapouriser that use just one or the othere as well as the eq which everyone seems to suggest is both?

  20. Just put in enough weed to get you high even if it's little at a time then you never have to worry about this.
