High heart rate while smoking but not when vaping

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by PicturesandFairytales, May 17, 2015.

  1. Has anyone experienced a high heart rate after smoking, but noticed a relative decrease when using a vaporiser? I know when you burn the plant you aren't just inhaling THC but many of the other compounds found in the plant, so I assumed that this is what swim was talking about when they noticed that vaporising was by far the more pleasant experience. I wonder if anyone has a scientific explanation for this as there doesn't seem to be much online.

  2. You only get a high heart rate cause you don't embrace the high and probably get skidish and paranoid as fuck causing then high heart rate personally i body build and track my heart rate with a fit bit and while I smoke it stays relitivelly low like lower 50s to mid 50s

  3. Swim says It isn't unpleasant at all, they are only curious, the same way they report that their eyes aren't as red when vaping as opposed to smoking.

  4. Swim needs to admit that he is swim. But the extra compounds from smoking could be the reason for higher heart rate. Just don't smoke if it concerns you. A lot of people don't smoke and just vape so you won't be different if that's your concern.

The phrase "Swim" is not required here.

Cannabis increases your heart rate, it's one of the aspects of being high. Personally I have never tried vaporizing canna though I was under the impression it wouldn't make a difference.

Have you actually monitored your heart rate so you have a frame of reference?
Put two fingers against your jugular vein and count the beats for ten seconds then multiply it by six and tht's your bpm.

    I've actually done this before and here's a comparison;

This January - When I was, what I described in my notes as, "very high" my bpm was 114.
Two hours later it was down to 84 bpm.

That was back then, right now it's 74 and I smoked about 3 hrs ago, although I ate an entire pizza during this high and food does bring you back down to earth. I'm gonna smoke again right now and tell you what it goes up to...

  6. Thanks for the reply people. The heart rate isn't frighteningly high, just higher than it is when vaping. Swim (lol) smoked for many years before switching to a vaporiser and noticed that their heart rate is a lot lower than it is when smoking.

  7. Thanks. It is 83bpm when smoking and 72bpm when vaping.

  8.
    Wow, tht's quite a difference.

  9.
Haha yeah it is a bit of a difference, but since it isn't ridiculously high I guessed it was just due to smoking

In hindsight it may just have been the smoke tht increased the heart rate. Same goes for ciggs. Once again smoke is the culprit. I'm waiting for my regular head shop site to re-stock their MFLB's so I can order one.

Is there a big difference between smoke and vape??

Thanks for the help. The main benefit is the clarity of the high and the ability to taste the herb without the harshness sometimes associated with burning it - if you have ever smoked crystals (kief) the high is very similar to that. It also seems to reduce the hangover you feel when you wake up after a long session, which is always handy if you have stuff to do in the morning. You also save weed and the leftovers can be saved and made into hash or coconut oil, which can then be made into hot chocolate.

The MFLB is an amazing vaporiser, you will probably fall in love with it after getting used to it, I would also recommend the bong attachment if you use bowls as it makes the conversion easier, since a lot of people complain about the lack of vapor.

Vaping makes economic sense and provides a healthier high. I know that smoking weed isn't as bad tobacco but the combustion still puts you at a slight risk so it makes the whole experience guilt free (anyone who smokes will probably understand the guilty feeling of smoking when trying to quit).
