So, I've been researching and apparently there's this thing called water curing, and when using water cured buds in edibles, GREATLY reduces the smell / taste of the weed in your edibles. I was wondering, if I would be able to do something similar to water curing, but maybe heat up the water a bit to speed up the process? It seems like it should work as long as it doesn't get to too high of a temperature. What do you guys think?

I wouldn't try to speed up the process with heat.  Add a larger volume of water and change it more frequently.  What's your rush?  Five days should do (I like seven). You're right about the wonderful magic of water curing.  Your buds will shrink a bit, but that just concentrates your trichomes.  I always do this when I'm making edibles.

I really don't know if heat would help or not.  I always use tepid water.

  3. If your main issue is impurities, then by all means use a water cure.

However, if you just want edibles that taste ok then you should use ethanol to extract the medicine into a tincture.

You can then make a solvent transfer into coconut oil and cook / bake with the coconut oil.

Check out the stickie thread above called Another Tincture thread.

  4. My edibles taste fine with a water cure.  I don't need to go through the extra step of making tincture.

  5. I guess it depends on how you look at things.

I would much rather make a tincture and then make a solvent transfer to coconut oil of whatever amount of medicine the recipe calls for.

Even following the freezer method of GD, it is still quicker than a 5-7 day water cure.

  6. Also, I have never gotten the knack of making tinctures so I shy away from them. does sound more efficient.

  7. Check out the stickie thread called Another tincture thread. On the first page there is an index.

For quicker solution read the thread called Dragon Lite.
