Anybody ever just up and leave?

  1. Just as the topic says, ever just hop in your car or on a bus/train and just leave for a while without saying anything? Feel like leaving my phone as well, it's a prepaid anyway. And don't really feel like bringing my car with me.

  2. No,and i wouldn't go anywhere without telling someone my general plan.
I know that might sound a bit catious, but i am lol

if i had $1500 and a vehicle with valid tags, shit I would be going back to my old city. I moved a few months ago.

  4. No because who would feed my dogs and plants.

  5. fuck man i really want to. it's just when i walk a lot my knees start hurting because i had  4 ligament replacements a few months ago. i been wanting to just hop on a train and just go cross country. fuck everything style. i would just have to bring a lot of ibuprofen ( please tell me that's not against the rules)(it's literally an over the counter anti inflammatory) im taking my chances and mods feel free to delete my post.

All of the time! All I would need is about $20,000 a bus ticket to a small town and I'd be off. Though I would not mind taking either a girl or boyfriend and some just friends with me to a nice cabin in either the wilderness or mountains and just getaway from the hectic pace of urban life for about a year.

I just don't know how I'd go about it exactly. Its like damn, I just want to leave and see what happens, where I end up, learn where to stay away from and where feels good. Sorry to hear about your knees.

    Edit: 20k seems a lot.

  8. Yeah quite often. Haven't lived in the same place for more than a year these past 5 years. I like to stay in a constant state of departure while always arriving, saves on introductions and goodbyes. However, folks always know where I'm off to - got to keep in touch with roots, else how do you know where you've came from?, though sometimes when I have the time will just disappear into the woods for a week or more (with minimal electronics), it's like hitting the reset button.

All the best with whatever you decide to do and all future endeavours. [IMG]

True. Having a missus in tow is a good time also. Sometimes it's nice to be solo too. No preferences, take it as it is.

Don't fight that feeling dude. Follow it to it's fullest, even if it means it's something to work towards.

  10. Seeing the old same people doing the same old things, growing up around this area is really nothing. Only thing I have over here is family. And yeah I'd like to stay with them but I'm right outside of Chicago and the job opportunity over here is terrible. I've lost my only decent job due to being laid off. Being 21 I lost a majority of my friends, my girl, my job, and well basically I want to start fresh and I don't have much to lose.

  11. yep

up and moved halfway across the country

    best decision ever

  12. I actually made a thread about this but my whole thing was about running away with $200. in the future I plan on just scrounging up or earning a few hundred dollars and hall away with only the clothes on my back and a backpack. ideally I wanna end up in California.

  13. I've done this before. That's how I moved to Oregon. I'm thinking about doing it again, this time to CA.

  14. Yeah I've done this. I told people though and saved up almost 10k. I've learned a lot, but wish I still had that 10k

  15. Well packing up and moving to a cabin for a year would be expensive. lol

  16. Not necessarily in the grandest sense, but I often will get up and leave to go smoke a cig/bowl, go read, listen to music, play bass/guitar, or write. In the middle of about anything. It has to do with equal measure creativity and anxiety issues at times. So yeah, in a way.

  17. Yeah I wish I've taken a long drive by myself without anything on my mind.

  20. Yeah sometimes I leave the country for a few hrs without telling anyone.

Last time I got in a fight with my dad. So I hopped the train. Found a nice indie rock club and smoked weed in the back.
