Money and the ability to make money is going to determine this outcome; evidently there is a lot of money coming into this.

Those who are investing do not want to lose their hedge bets.   Say what you want about Capitalism, but we have people out there who are risking much more than us pecking on a keyboard.  Shouldn't they be rewarded for that risk?

I just want a level playing field; I want an opening when it drops it's Class 1 status.  In the meantime... I am developing easy ways to grow it, soil, and soil amendments.  Some out there will lobby to further control a plant when it becomes Legal; they are the ultimate in rule makers...  as Fascists...  it is what they do...  it is how they are wired, and it is how they define the word "importance."

I never said it was FAIR... those whining and complaining have a legitimate gripe.

Those who are receiving licenses initially in Colorado know those licenses are worth a million dollars.    Is it fair that their cost was $75K?
Being timely on investment is part of the game.

The rest of us are now locked out from participating unless we cough up a million dollars.  THAT is reality.  Sometimes reality sucks... but the State is going to get it's cut when corporate America drops it's cash into Colorado.

No more licenses are going to be released...  The selection part of it is over.   Now you have to purchase a license just as you would if you would have purchased a beer bar.

Buying a congress critter to write an industry into your pocket isn't a risk<->reward issue....it's a pure corruption issue.

Doesn't matter what the licence is worth, it's not the states place to determine who's allowed be successful in any given industry...

If they want money they need to collect it on the back end from the winners who grow a better product with the right sales team/packaging/distribution set up to make money off it.  THAT is free market competition, that is a level playing field. These insano high licencing prices/protections designed to keep the average non billionaire from even thinking about it is pure crony corruption.

CO set it up like that to corner the market for the elite.....farmer joe can't just go out, grow a superior product and market it like any other consumable good and get a piece of the action.  Nope...only mega biz is allowed into the industry. That's that evil empire shit....and it's up to farmer joe to go out there and do some infighting to prevent cannabis from being something only rich people and those connected to them can get into. So far though it's been "Yes Mr.Billionaire, if you just quit putting me in prison for it I'll let you and your buddies own the market" across the board though so things are rather dismal looking for the future of cannabis imo.

They are trying to do the same thing to CA, and I just hope they keep fighting it because it would be sad to see it turned into another extortion scheme paid for by big biz and enforced by the big gov.  If they make the cannabis industry a 1%'er only club, I'll burn the ranch down along with a good chunk of Humboldt on my way out of the USA to find a place where I'm allowed to earn a living without a million + liquid and a senators say so as a pre-requisite to even try.

  5. I can grow better weed than the local Pharmacy...  as such I am not giving a dime to their profit.

My skill sets continue to improve, and eventually those mega million types will require my skill sets and knowledge to succeed as others who think as I do utterly refuse to assist their bottom line.

I will find my million dollars another way...  I will write a book.  I will become recognized...  I will gain financial backing to do what I want.

  6. yeah ima grow so I'm not making anyone that much money

  7. The CNN programme High Profits has a commercial in which a smart ass guy states that there will be X $ profit made and he plans to get MORE than his fair share. It's attitudes like that which make cannabis capitalists have a bad name. What's wrong with him settling for just his fair share? That 'more than' statement makes us all look like greedy assholes too. Not all of us worked for ENRON and purposely ripped other people off to line our own pockets.

  8. Jesus murphy. Did any of you read the comments ?
It's enough to give you a brain aneurism

  9. It must just be the ENRON guys around here.  They're all rump-humping the "patients" for $20/g.

  10. If the Goal is to make MMJ a provided for item by the Insurance industry... which this administration stated was ripping off the populace (as they sat down with it in utter privacy behind closed doors with Democrats as the only participants) so be it... you have to tell the Insurance companies they must provide Marijuana as a medicine as one would demand they give out other Class 1 substance drugs.  This will demand a Corporate take over of Marijuana would it not?

You can't have it both ways...  stating those who are providers are guilty of Capitalism, and then demand the Medical Insurance companies (who are also based on profit) pay out under the circumstances of intention.  Your insurance costs are going to sky rocket.

On the other hand; if you want Communism instead of what you current have as a system... then your point is valid.  We are not going to give in to a Communism take over of the USA... not without a huge bloodbath over such an outcome.  Is it worth it?  Would that be desirable?  Really?   Over a plant?

Find some compromise while pushing your positions...  you will not get everything you want in this argument...  not against those who currently utterly refuse to let you have access to the plant as a position.

As for $20 a gram...  the State believes you need to be in jail for having that one Gram, and the person that gave it to you must go to jail, and the grower must give up everything...  his home, his property, his Farm, all of the farm machinery (lights, soil, additives), and bank account.

When you look at the above scenario; you become willing to accept the Shake Down of $20 a gram... initially.

Don't you get it yet?  Getting it LEGAL is a win.  We can work out the pricing after it becomes LEGAL.  Capitalism does that...  if the Pharmacy cannot provide a product worthy of $20 a gram...  it will not remain in operation long.  Not without being subsidized by the tax payer.  ~smile   Maybe that is where it is going?  You want free weed for the poorest of the poor...  or the unwilling to work... or for those that cannot work.  Such a position requires someone pay up, and pay out.  Weed is not FREE.  Accept that...  it might be a goal one day... but we are nowhere near that point right now are we?

You are going to have to accept Capitalism if you desire this item to be legalized; Socialism isn't going to happen until after you allow a profit to take place.  Even then... it will be someone wealthy providing it.  Right?

  12. Long time no see.

Good luck....but that's like a micro brewer saying they are going to take down Miller or Coors....

You can have a far superior product but the odds of any of them going to sell as much or make as much as Coors are slim to none, that's old money empire that owns most the beer industry. It's Miller time yo!!

Problem is when that old money empire buys legislation that keeps most if not all micro brews from even trying to compete.

I'm all for big biz running the coors of weed....make blue dream/big bud supa weedie ciggz cheap in by the ton.

But I'm totally against the protectionist legislation. Like booze ANYONE who has met the health and safety, epa/USDA requirements etc.  should be able to go down and give the state a few hundred to a couple grand and get their licence just like any other industry.

100k? 1 mil? That's fuckin' bullshit and should be fought tooth and nail......

Legalization will bring all facets of the world into the fold....with the kind of money involved did anyone really expect the corporate sharks to just not touch this industry? LOL they are trying to corner it, pin it and make it their bitch before it has a chance to go anywhere.

CNN says we should let them....personally I think the REAL fight has just begun, and the people, especially growers and providers better wake the fuck up or they are going to wake up finding Monsanto/Big bux just legislated them out of their dreams......because they don't have a million bucks for the privilege of even attempting to compete. When all they should need is some good dirt, clean water and a sunny spot.

Only if it's legal for everyone......not just people with millions in liquid to blow on a new business licence/build. Not if the pharmacy and their 5 affiliates needed to avoid legal action against them for monopolies are the ONLY ones with a licence to provide.  Capitalism only works if Joe Shmucky is allowed to absolutely put those mother fuckers out of bidnizz by providing a superior value for the customers dollar. There HAS to be enough competition for capitalism to work it's magic.

If the rest of the states go the way of CO/WA the black market will continue to thrive.....and little will be accomplished.

Legalization is a win, but only if it's not toxic crony bullshit legalization meant to corner the market for the elite 'investors' who don't need to compete because they are so rich they can just pay a congress/senate to do their bidding and write the industry into their pockets. That's a loss.....

  14. as long as i can home cultivate up to 12 plants, it's better than it was before. Legalize it, work out the kinks later, because peoples lives are being ruined by prohibition every day it's not legal yet

the freedom of a seed to grow is only hindered by circumstance. circumstances here on this planet are--  here at this planet seeds are viable to grow -- seeds know nothing of this money you speak of only that it was once growing on a tree in nature next to them in the dirt. the rest is all human bullshit. law of the land = natural law only known in nature not man. we have a lot to learn (remember)I say!

edit- if in FREE you mean we have to work for it then yes I agree, we have to work with our interaction with cannabis for our desired outcome which is more "effort derived"  than monetary based, or at least the basic fundamentals are- add in human bullshit anywhere after that statement to see how much we can really fuck something up from a natural beautiful thing ( life forms growing ) to failure- man not benefiting from the growing life forms because our bullshit got in the way.
