Will humans be in the history books?

Discussion in 'High Ideas' started by enjoyandlive, May 16, 2015.

  1. When humans go extinct, however long / far down the road, do you think ever between now and a hundred million some odd years some type of organism or space traveler will land on earth and discover our fossils or something? Like when we sent the probe to mars to bring sand back. Just a random thought, it's interesting if humans would ever get remembered in like.. a billion years from now o_O

Sent from my intergalactic spaceship hotbox

  2. Data suggests that we entered a new geological timeline when we detonate the first atomic bomb. The background radiation rose and affects the rock layers ring deposited.
In the future, if some advanced life form does research the earths surface, they will be able to tell that we were here.

Beer before Bud, you're in the mud
Bud before Beer, you're in the clear.

  3. Maybe....maybe not. That's the best answer we have to your question. There are far to many variables to determine what will happen.

  4. Yea, I read we sent a gold slate inscribed with human anatomy and accomplishments into space.

im sure that humans will go extinct before the sun dies and earth dies. the space is so vast though it's like an alien finding one grain of sand on a 1,000,,000 km beach. If advanced ets do come, yeah theyll notice the destructive nature of the organism that lived here due to nuke sites

  6. Oh i think we will be remembered.
    Prolly in a documentary titled.
"How not to do it" lol

  7. Nasa has sent audio recordings into space trying to communicate with "alien" life or send signs of our existence. When or if humans were to be extinct, we'd probably be so technologically advanced there'd be no use for history books.

So we probably wouldn't have our own chapter in an alien high school textbook, but we definitely made our mark

  8. Humans will go extinct a lot sooner than we think.

We will be replaced by AI

They wont have "books" but they will probly have all the info saved

  9. I stumbled upon this, and damn this is deep. So deep, Adele is rolling in it.

  10. In a billion years, all that will be left are pampers and plastic coke can 6 pack rings.

  11. what if we've been discovered by aliens, or will be, who are so advanced tht they find no interest in us

  12. Humans will never most likely go extinct, but this nation will, as all the others will. It's sad to think, but there are no nations that have lasted throughout all history. America, the UK, Iran, China, all of them will someday be in the history books. If we don't kill each other with nukes first.

  13. What if we are ants?

Wars with aliens always make for good movies, but in reality, non existing .

Would you consider humans to he at wwar with ants? No. We just try to keep them out of our house.

What if humans thought they were at war with some alien menace that kept burning colonies. But in reality, its just because we are annoying ants to them.

  14. ^ thats like going to an ant colony and setting it on fire for no benefit of yours. those would be some dickhead aliens

  15. not really. I'm talking about ones infesting your house. Not random colonies.

But to humans it would seem random. We would think they are dickhead aliens.

  16. well if aliens came to earth just to kill everything then it is precisely that

  17. There wouldn't be history books without humans.

  18. Wouldn't earth be destroyed by then?

  19. I wasn't talkng aabout earth

More like. We establish a colony on planets x y and z

Planets x and z get attacked. We think it's a war but really we are just ants trespassing
