Blues great BB King dies at 89

  2. Sad news, but his legacy will live on in the hearts and souls of so many...
     
    Regardless of whether they know it or not, BB King and his influence have probably touched most people...a musician's musician...a great influence to so, so many...

    On a more, erm, personal note - the man still had a use for viagra well into his 80's.

    This is the guy people like Jimi Hendrix looked to for inspiration. 
     
    Without the blues we wouldn't have any of the music we have today.

  6. my heart was crushed a bit when i found out because he was such an inspiration and role model for a young 12 year old that was myself when i was learning guitar....i taught myself by listening to my music and playing along/emulating different styles....so many of his blues licks and riffs i still subconciously use and pull out like a marked card in a sleeved deck...rip bb king, never will your light be lost as you shine brightly through so many students...

    Was fortunate enough to see him last year at Fox Theater in Oakland. The mayor presented him with the key to the city and it was absolutely one of the best concerts attended. It was a first for me since it was a seated event, Im used to those smaller venues where you stand.

    He will be missed, a musical legend.
