Aluminum Foil Bowl

  1. I'm seeing a lot of things about aluminum foil bowls being bad for you, I can see how that could affect you if every session you were completely torching the bowl but all you gotta do is hold the flame above the bowl and suck through the bong, it'll pull the flame down enough to light your weed but not the tinfoil. Problem solved.

  2. the heat radiation along is enough to cause tinfoil to release fumes just go buy a real bowl

  3. If that were the case, you would not be able to cook with tinfoil because the heat from a stove would release fumes into the food and house, an ovens normal temp is 450 for some things, of course it can go higher. But I believe the maximum threshold for a bic lighter is 500 Fahrenheit. I appreciate your concern, but ghetto people like me don't got a local headshop way out in the sticks. I understand that an oven is not directly heated like a direct flame to the foil, but like I said, my first point was to never allow the flame to come in direct contact with the aluminum.

  4. I've been using aluminum foil in my bong for months. Just recently stopped after my torch light burned the foil. It ripped, became discolored and tasted funny.

My advice is to stop using it asap. I switched over to screens and it's muuuch better.

It's not worth it, epsecially when there r better alternatives.

Here's the thread I made about the foil, you might get some useful info from there :

  5. Thank you for the thread, but I've done previous research and am confident enough in my own ability that I'm going to continue using aluminum foil for the next little while, until I get my job. I've seen lots of arguments on both sides, and I agree partly on both, if you have direct flame to the foil it will burn and shrivel up, but I let the flame hit the weed for a second or two then the cherry does the rest. I appreciate both of you for commenting and trying to warn me about hazards of smoking through aluminum. I know there could be possible health risks if I were to continue to do this for a long period of time, but in a pinch tinfoil works better than anything else and is easily available on anyone's kitchen. I'm not debating wether smoking aluminum will hurt you, it will. What I'm trying to explain to the fine people here at grass city is how to be cautious and just a little safer and healthier if in fact they have to use tinfoil. Being a stoner I know the feeling, no one wants to take the time to go buy a screen when there is foil in the kitchen, espicially when some people are underage or don't have a license, they can't make it to there local headshop if they even have one in their town. Im just trying to help our younger crowd out the smart way. If they weren't gonna smoke out of tinfoil they wouldn't have come to this forum for advice anyway. I'm
Just trying to help out with the right technique. Some of us are to lazy to get off our asses and buy a screen.

  6.
    Screens are like 2$/10pack

  7. Again, people are going to continue smoking out of aluminum, myself included. But I'm trying to educate people on how to reduce, if not completely irradiate, all harmful effects by smoking it the right way. Just like food of tinfoil, my weed is heated up on top of the tinfoil, I don't light the tinfoil in the oven or in my bowl, I just simply get the food, and the weed, hot. The FDA wouldn't approve tinfoil for cooking if it had hazardous health issues at high tempatures. Basically, the tinfoil only gets indirect heat just like in the oven.

  8. Eradicate* not irradiate
