I know this question has been asked a million times but I can't find a specific answer for my situation.... first of all... when everyone says look at the tricomes, when they are around 50/50 Amber/Cloudy.. do they mean look at one single bud and compare the ratio of tricomes on that bud? or look at the whole plant and if 50/50 of the buds have some Amber then it's time. I'm assuming it's each individual bud but the reason I ask is because here is my situation: I have some buds on my plant that are closer to the top that have almost all dark Amber tricomes , some a little lower have a mix of light Amber and cloudy and the lower buds are all just about cloudy/clear with no Amber. my plant has grown very close to the LED light I'm running and I know I was suppose to leave 16" at least but this is my first grow and basically the plant out grew the box. I'm sure this caused the top buds to mature much quicker and that's why I'm seeing the difference in tricome coloring... some people say it's all about the tricomes and some say you also have to look at the pistols if they are retracted. all of my pistols have not retracted all the way and are not all Amber (see pics) so that's making me think I have to give it more time?... what are my options? can I flush the plant for two weeks and cut only the big top buds who have dark tricomes and then try to keep growing the rest of the lower smaller clearer tricome buds? or will that be a waste since I'm stoping fertilizing and basically bringing he growth to a halt and then trying to bring it back to life ? or should I just give the plant a couple more weeks, flush the whole thing and cut the whole thing down and whatever I get I get? any help would be appreciated thank you. Still a lot of white pistils, each bud can develop and finish at different times, your tops get the most light and will most likely be done before the lower growth. You can harvest In rounds, the lower stuff will still mature after flushing using up the nutes left in the fan leaves. As far as trichs thats your harvesting preference. Clear = more Cbd, cloudy/Amber = more thc, mostly Amber = more cbg. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum

I started flushing 2 weeks ago I'm on day 73 of flowering. BY THE WAY IM IN A SOLO CUP. I think it's pretty gud for first time. I'm having the same issue tho, trying to figure out when to harvest. (Sorry for jacking ur thread) ... Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
do you know strain? Breeder guideline of finishing time? I still am learning the flushing finishing time myself on my plants. Supposedly flush 2 weeks prior to harvest and give plain water only after. Your fan leaves don't look yellow at all so you could probably go ahead and flush and let her start working on breaking down the nutes in her leaves. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum

I think it's an OG kush but not 100% sure this was my first grow I wasn't really keeping track of the time line if I had to guess I'd say it's about 12 weeks give or take since the flower period was started..... I'm just nervous to flush too early since there are still a lot of white pistols standing up straight on some of the buds. platinum buds: nice plant,,, what growing medium are you using is that solo cup just holding your medium and the roots are growing in hydro? Yea thanx man appreciate it. Yep 100% perlite. I realized one hole probably wouldn't be enough drainage so I put a second hole on The other side. I started in a rapid rooter then placed them into the solo cup. I've read of root bound but I don't think that's been problem. Now it's just figuring out when to harvest. another question.. I'm running an advanced led diamond xte series grow light.. this light allows me to control the red spectrum and the white/blue spectrum separately. I started dialing back the white/blue spectrum slowly so now it's on half way and the red is on full blast.. do you think this will have any effect in tricking the plant into realizing it's the end of its life cycle? or am I just slowing down the process? should I crank it back up full blast? last 3 waterings have been plain filtered water. I didn't want to flush completely yet because some of the buds still have some white pistols. most leafs are starting to turn yellow and about 70% of buds have most hairs orange a lot of the lower smaller buds still have a lot of white. does this make sense what I am doing or should I give more nutes for another week? or should I flush completely now for the next two weeks? you guys were definitely right about waiting an extra couple of weeks the buds swelled up a lot more Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
